I wouldn't want to see Brogan or Keaney out of work or forced to leave the country but at the same time they shouldn't get a job ahead of someone more qualified. Inter-county players probably already have an advantage in terms of having a high profile, I don't see why they should get an extra boost by receiving preferential treatment. If an inter-county football or hurler was given a job ahead of me or a friend of mine just because of their sporting profile I would be very angry.

They do provide us with wonderful entertainment and enjoyment but the harsh reality is that they should be no better nor worse off than your average junior hurler when it comes to getting jobs. The most suitable and qualified candidate should always be given the job. No exceptions.
