Galway vs Tipp: Attendance

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I think it's great that kids get in for free should be done at every match will get them interested at a young age.... but saying that wasn't the a juvenile season ticket aswell??? Should people that bought these get refunded?

899258 There's no problem getting big crowds for Rugby so why did McIntyre feel the need to plead? Is hurling gone that weak?

What's the biggest crowd attendance at a rugby match in Galway

--------

Biggest tend to be the interpros, which get 4-6000 or so, slightly less for Ulster

i thaught the showgrounds only held 5thousand and nevr looks more then 2thousand as they just stand at a fence along the pitch haha

Generally we get 1,500-2,500 for games dependent on weather etc, but with the interpros that figure goes up considerably. It holds 5,500 I think as the maximum, but there have been temporary stands put in several times in the past few years to increase attendance for one off games.

Terryland Park is the soccer pitch. The Showgrounds is in Sligo.

Typical Dub, get lost once they pass the M50!

In fairness I have sympathy with you here - RTE Sport (when they bother to even tell us the result of Connacht games) frequently get it wrong as well, especially on the radio. As do TV3, TodayFM etc.

Fair enough, but between here and the Mayo thread you seem to be digging some serious holes.

Tried to pass it once. Got as far as Liffey Valley but turned back. Things were looking bleak.

It's called Lucan. Bleak is definitely the right word. But if you push on it improves, and once you cross the Shannon it's like finding Tir na nOg.

Jayz festinog, don't be encouraging 'em to push on. Leave 'em where they are.
