Jesus it looked liked they were going to lock lumps out of each other after the match?

Belly tickling as McGeeney described it.

Its a thing of nothing, and that photo shouldnt have been published in my opinion. It just encourages idle gossip. There was a few tense tussles on the pitch near the dugout in injury time. The situation was worsened by the referee's fussy, inconsistent refereeing throughout the game. Both sides seemed frustrated with it by the end. John Doyle was dragged to the ground, but was whistled harshly for overcarrying. A scuffle broke out which should have resulted in a throw up, yet Meath were awarded the ten yards. I think both McGeeney and Banty had reason to be agrieved and things were just a bit tense at the end. Neither man had a bad word to say about eachother in the post game interviews.

Meath never had to strut about acting the hard men in the past. They were hard men. Quiet silent ruhtless hard men who shook hands with you afterwards. This sort of posing will do them no good whatsoever. Can't see Banty lasting there too long.

why shouldn't it published? there's nothing offensive about it. photographers are there to take photos of whats going on and inevitably have them published. should there be a dubious photo panel now that decides whats published and not published?

Have to agree with ye there Hurlingdub. Very disappointed , especially with McGeeney who was always the kinda player you referrred to. Two seasoned GAAmen gettin on like Under10s is very poor example. If I had had my young lad at the match I would have been very annoyed at him witnessing the behaviour.

brilliant sponger haha

ah it seemed harmless enough. mcgeeney's one of the calmest managers you'll ever see at a match. he rarely shows much emotion or shouts or anything. it wasn't like him at all. it's understandable if he was annoyed over what happened to john doyle at the end though.

it's blown out of proportion with the photos and everything. it was just a heat of the moment thing on both sides.

good result again for kildare! up the lilies!! :)

"...it's understandable if he was annoyed over what happened to john doyle at the end though..."

John Doyle deserved every bit of rough treatment he got at the end.

He held on to the ball and wouldn't let go for Meath to take the free.. ref was dead right to move the free forward.

Was over the far side and couldn't see whether or not he was booked but he should have been!!!

You couldn't see if he was booked because you were so far away but you had a perfect few of the incident itself?
