Nearly 100 posts on this already, obviously a serious issue which needs to addressed, needless to say I shant be attending any matches involving Dublin until this has been stamped out. Down with this sort of thing I say! brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 28/02/2011 20:38:11 878582 Link 0 |
I find this incredible, the rest of the country must be deaf or have extremely sensitive ears to Dublin booing, as if it doesn't happen elsewhere. Just listen to any other match around the country and its there GAA Beo right now has a round up and guess what? But sure its like when the dubs "invade" the pitch its hooliganism but when the the rest of the country does it, its "culture". arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4956 - 28/02/2011 20:41:32 878585 Link 0 |
Dublin fans are going the way of soccer fans.. look at rugby, no noise no matter who, when or when someone takes a kick... thats what it should be like. Im not saying dublin are the sole culprites, but the are the loudest and most consistent, not to mention recieve the greatest amount of coverage, so their behaviour is seen more often Sqaureball93 (Laois) - Posts: 16 - 28/02/2011 20:42:24 878586 Link 0 |
booing isnt very common in the gaa however its recently been creeping into it .. i went to the Cork v Dublin all ireland semi last year and the dubs booing just spurred the Cork comeback on .. i was also at the final and Down were at it too .. but they werent quite as bad as the Dubs .. the Dubs take it way too far , theyd boo a 14 yard free healy96 (Westmeath) - Posts: 177 - 28/02/2011 21:00:32 878615 Link 0 |

Why do i Boo ? i boo because i like the rest of the hill and Dubs fans in general wish to distract the player taking the free kick so that my team go on and win the game. BettystownRoyal (Meath) - Posts: 3353 - 28/02/2011 21:10:56 878627 Link 0 |

I was at a Leinster semi final i think it was in 2006 or 07 when the Dubs beat Laois by 14 points. The laois fans were leaving early to a chorus of the soccer chant of Cheerio Cheerio from a big contingent of the Dubs your.right (Longford) - Posts: 74 - 28/02/2011 21:38:00 878660 Link 0 |

A yes, the grass hasn't even had it's first shave of the year yet and already the Dubs are being held to account for booing. Joxer (Dublin) - Posts: 4748 - 28/02/2011 21:55:15 878678 Link 0 |
And Furthermore the fellow with the Bodhran make me sick to the bottom of my large intestine, the booing is most likely to drown out the racket he makes!!! ochonlir (Cavan) - Posts: 4343 - 28/02/2011 21:59:19 878684 Link 0 |
i think there is nothing new in this- and its definatly not the soccer brigade on the hill in the summer months only its a year round thig, anyways the entire gaa fraternity could learn so much from rugby in terms of a bit of respect and class- you dont see ruigby fans acting like idiots liathroidboy (Mayo) - Posts: 4921 - 01/03/2011 13:41:42 878959 Link 0 |

Exactly, you obviously just breezed over my earlier post with the link to every Irish rugby fan booing when Parks took his kick in Croke Park last year, did you Ballboy? Of course these fans have responded since by not even going to the Ireland games last autumn which would have helped to maintain a silence right through the whole game not just when the opposition kicker is involved. doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 01/03/2011 17:10:57 879144 Link 0 |
