When did Dublin last beat Kerry at Croke Park?

When was the last time a Dublin team beat Kerry in Croke Park

I was at a game during the league in 1999 in Parnell Park - When in a highly entertaining match Dublin won by a point or two

Kerry will come into this game with the probable underdog tag - after the media hype Dublin up going into the game

The stats will certainly be in favour of Kerry and the underdog tag will suit them... Kerry has nothing to fear - They've owned Dublin time and time again on the big pitch.

I'd be more than happy if we could get a draw from this one... but sadly I think the occasion will get to some of our younger players when they see the green and gold in Croke Park and Kerry will just let their DNA flow…

Kerry by 5 points - They'll create goals just like Cork did, except they'll take them...

Dublin by 2, you saw off a very good Cork side with some panache and this current Kerry side are not nearly as good as Cork.

They beat them last year in Kerry, they've beaten the A.I. Champs Cork, they can do it again. I don't think the occasion will get to them, after all Jedward aren't playing this time......I wouldn't read too much in to a win anyway, but it would be good for morale.

874361 When was the last time a Dublin team beat Kerry in Croke Park

In the champo in 1977. I think that we might have beaten them in a league match in Croker some time in the late 80s but can't be sure. We've a good record against them in Parnell though.

Looking forward to Saturday. Another chance for some of the newer Dublin players to impress. I don't see Kerry being as wasteful as Cork were last week but I'm hopeful of a Dublin win.

Dublin by a point or two perhaps.

Red Hand wears red tinted shades I fear no matter who the side? Dubs will beat Kerry this Saturday because they are ahead of Kerry in fitness levels and have a deeper selection of substitutes who are all flying fit at the moment. This Dublin team can win the All Ireland I believe but I still think they have more athletes than pure footballers in their side, that is their woe. Should they face Cork in the latter stages of the Championship that fact will be the difference between the teams. Remember Kerry beat Cork last year and if Kerry right some pf their questions they will be in the mix come August maybe even September. I enjoy seeing the Dubs do well...

Dublin2 -10 2-08 Kerry I hope to be at the game as a Neutral but because of my club colours are identical to those of Dublin I might just have to cheer on the Boy's n Blue!.

jimbodub, i like your style making out kerry will walk away from croker with all points in the bag, as if to say they need only to turn up. dublin are playing fierce football at the moment, and kerry stumbled to get out of mchale park with all two points over a poor mayo outfit, and your now saying kerryw ill win easily in the capital, i for one know your takin the biscuit, if kerry get out of dublin with any points it would be massive for the kingdom, considering what happened cork the week before. history accounts for v.little int he league, make no mistake, we meet yas in summer, well kill yas as per usual.

Jimbo, you wouldn't be playing the "Let's not hype Dublin too early and keep our feet on the ground" card with that prediction, would you?!!!

If anything Dublin should be overwhelming favourites. They are in great form at the moment, playing at home in front of their own fans, against a Kerry team in transition. I know Dublin aren't fielding their strongest side either but my money is on a Dublin win. Mental barrier to break too to beat Kerry in Croke Park. Another step to be taken on the way to the Holy Grail I suppose!

Jimbo it was very rare for Kerry to beat Dublin in the league.
I think it was 2004/2005 when Kerry beat Dublin in Parnell Park that was the first away win in ages over the Dubs!

I think at the moment Kerry is only coming back into fitness, I would be very surprised if kerry did win but hopefully we will get something from the game such as our midfield show they are up to inter county standard and a few of the newbies continuing to stand up to the palte

Well thats not Croker is it... :) It's a whole diffferent ball game on the big pitch... where Kerry have the absolute edge.

kerry stumbled to get out of mchale park

Not the first time they've stumbled through a game to meet the Dubs in Croker...!! And along comes the inevitable outcome... 

It will suit Kerry perfectly... Kerry have the edge in Croke Park over Dublin… the closet we've come to you in the 3 meetings is 2 points

The other two games were a whitewash/hammering… even when we performed decent enough it wasn't enough.

You boys understand the big pitch… and still without question have the edge

Cork should have scored a couple of goals against our makeshift defence… with the class that Kerry have up front - well they won't be so wasteful

no liostuathail i think the dubs will kill YAZ on saturday we will kill YAZ in the summer too depending if the two teams meet or not . like im just looking at kerry at the minute and thinking of the players they wont have for the coming year aka tom osullivan , mike mccarthy , tommy walsh , tadgh kennelly . How are you going to manage in defence the likes of padraig reidy and omahony havent been the same players since the 2009 season , shane enright and johnathan lyne are going to be close enough to getting in the kerry team and its only their first year on the panel , the midfield is weak , david moran still not living up to his potential , i just dont think 2011 bodes well for the kingdom in general no matter the result on saturday night

I think the last time Dublin bet Kerry in Croke Park was in a League semi final in the early 90's around 92/93. I think that was the game that the Bomber liston made a comeback in.

Using Cork as a barometer, Dublin should be favoured in this one. Fitness wise they seem to be ahead of the other contenders at the moment. A Dublin win here would set them up for a League Final berth but perhaps more importantly for future reference, their attack right now looks potentially more potent than the one that lined out last August. In my view the likes of McMenamon, Connolly and Quinn have a greater cutting edge up front than the hard-working types like Henry, Corkery, Flynn. The tactical gameplan with an emphasis on hard work and tracking back which Dublin utilised last year was effective to a point but ultimately their over-reliance on Brogan for scores was too much.

Through the years Kerry have shown better than anyone that the easiest way to win All-Irelands is to have forwards who are comfortable in shooting off either foot in scoring range. If Dublin came come out of this year's League with a settled forward unit with 4 or 5 consistent scores then that will represent a good start to the year.

As an aside, anyone hear if Tom O'Sullivan is due back for this one?

Dublin are still missing 17 panelists or thereabouts and the wide open spaces of Croke Park will suit Kerry. Would much rather be playing this at home on the tighter Parnell Park pitch but there you go.

I also think that Kerry have the ability to stifle the Dublin forwards as they play a similar game to the Jacks i.e. box up defence and break to score. This could lead to a low scoring game.

I fancy Kerry to win by 2 or 3 points but should make for an interesting game.

Up the Dubs!

ive been 100% incorrect in both predictions so far but im fairly sure dublin will be comfortably beaten by kerry. were still very much in transition and the sight of the blue jersey and an incredible underdog tag will be like a red flag to a bull for kerry players. kerry by 5+

Dublin beat Kerry in a very good game of football in the 1987 National League Final. However neither side came out of the province in the championship as Meath and Cork dominated during the period 1987-1991.

as Byanthon says above the Dubs beat Kerry in the 87 league final.....that was the last time I remember beating them in Croke Park. Might have beaten them in a league match in the late 80s early 90s but the ould memory isn't what it used to be!
