We beat Armagh last night in the Prelim round in Ulster 2.10 to 3.3. Great achievement for us considering this contains a lot of the 2009 AI Minor team

Carlow to edge past Wexford, probably meet Longford in the final.

Carlow were very unlucky not to beat Dublin last year. This could be their year in Leinster.

Is it a sign of the shift in power in Leinster football that neither of Leinsters big four (dublin, Kildare, Meath laois) failed to make the semi finals? Of the remaining teams I would like to see either Carlow or Longford win it

Dont think longford will make the leinster final as westmeath have a decent team. With heslin to return also, they should beat longford, but it wont be easy.I can see westmeath winning leinster,as they are the strongest team left.

Ive seen westmeath play 3 or 4 times in d last 2 years... class team and reckon they will walk leinster by winning each game by a margin of at least 6+ ... all ireland wont be out of there reach with the likes of heslin, lynam, coffey, maguire and james dolan... quality side

As I mentioned before Westmeath just keep crowing about themselves on how great they are and how brilliant Heslin is......didn't turn out that way last year when Longford met them in Mullingar for the minor game. Westmeath were beaten and Heslin was as well to of been sitting in the stand. Keep on shouting how great ye are and we''ll quietly go about our business. Westmeath are BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!

ya want to hold on there horse.westmeath disposed of both laois and offaly quite easily (albeit two very poor sides) without the services of heslin. of the four teams left westmeath have to fancy their chances as fairly good. this is a team that with alot of the same players got to the leinster final last year and were very unlucky to lose to a dublin team that went on to claim all ireland honours. fair play to ye for getting over meath and i can guarantee you there is no way way any of those westmeath lads will be taking longford for granted. ye fully deserved your win in the minor last year and the two men marking heslin at the same time that day did a job on him and because of some very poor management decisions by a poor management team we were never going to beat ye. this u21 team is a different kettle of fish with what i believe a very astute and under-rated manager. best of luck in wherever ye decide to drag us (which is a joke by the way, why take the game to navan or parnell when athlone is there?) but i'm goin for Íarmhí by 6 points.

Constantly whingeing about an irrelevant football game from last year isn't exactly going quiet about your business.

Why should Longford play in Westmeath when they are down as the home team??? If Leinster council won't let them play it in Slashers, Newtown or Drumlish where there is lights then they can play it in a neutral venue.....sounds like yer already making yer excuses in Westmeath!!!! I was at the Westmeath game last night and have to say ye weren't by any means near provincial champions let alone challenge for All-Ireland.

Ah now westmeath are a serious outfit. Us longford supporters need to stop looking at past glories and focus on d game at hand. Some of us here ( Spinx ) are gettin a little bit carried away. Calm down son. On paper westmeath will win............???

Also I think the game should be played under lights in a club ground. Maybe Abbeylara? Have they lights?

Why wouldn't it have relevance Juan? Are there no minors from Westmeath last year on u-21's this year? There are some on Longford team. And from reading on here I agree with Spinx all Westmeath people are talking about how serious an outfit ye'll have when Heslin is back. Did he not play in the minor game last year? And did Longford not keep him quiet? And did Longford not win? So yes I like Spinx and quite a few others believe it does have relevance.

The game is bound to attract a few thousand, I don't think Abbey's or any other club ground would be big enough to accommodate it. Maybe Breffni park?

Longford should take Westmeath down to Legan....serious set up there. I played a game there 2 years ago, some hill on it! No chance of lying water!!

At the end of the day it's a field but in fairness I think Longford would rather play away from westmeath. Oddball would reaching an under 21 final last year not be more a reason for optimism than winning a minor?

Why can't the game be played on a Sat or Sun afternoon meaning the game can take place in Pearse Park??? Problem solved!
