galway were awesome, some great players. great running with the ball and always a man free. cavan had an off day but should hold their heads high, gave us a great day out. was brilliant to see the excitement in cavan, the traffic jams in virginia and at the toll bridges and up the navan road. hopefully there will be more days to come. wil 8 stil elligible next year and 7 elligible in 2 year, we can continue to hope.

well done to both teams

Well done festinog and the Spaniards comment was meant in good jest. I like Galway people, always got on well with them. Now ye wonder why ye all have dark complexions and dark curly hair in the West? Ye are all desecended from Galicians (North West Spain) who came to the West of Ireland over 500 years ago. Don't worry we REAL GENUINE IRISH in Ulster won't hold that against you, we'll let ye be Irish.

The reason some refer to us a Spaniards festinog is because we're the Galwayacticos of gaelic football

Well said Festinog!! Made me laugh, although I will point out the trading links were far more widespread than the late 17th Century and most of Shop St/Augustine St is 15/16/17 century built in a Spanish style either by Spaniards themselves, or by Spanish influence. They are all stables and courtyards as you would see in North and East Spain of the period.

And hard luck to Cavan - but with so many lads able to play next year, hopefully they can be back, and either way, I hope it gives a boost to the seniors - a great county deserving of a great team again

we can look to the future with real excitement; 7 of the starters are returning next year as well as 4 of the five subs, the entire panel will be returning 22 players for next year.

Well done Galway, great team and a great performance. We never really got going but hopefully we can build on all the positives from this run to the AI final!

I think Cavan got a bit ahead of themselves after winning Ulster with celebratory dinners, functions and widespread celebrations. They also still have too many players suffering from the Larry Reilly syndrome as in requiring a ball of their own.... thou shalt not pass to a colleague until you are totally bottled up, have run out of ideas or found yourself in a corner with nowhere to go.
Having said that Galway were very good and seem to have widened their base with one of their best players from Athenry.... hardly the home of football.

I think you'll find that we had the all Ireland semis a couple of days after the tyrone match so no time for celebrations, sometimes you can create a reality to fit your perceptions of the truth big sacks

Cavan posters may have a pop at me because Cavan beat Tyrone etc
However it dont take away from the fact that there were functions held after winning Ulster... the semi-final may have taken place in the meantime but still true. The time for celebratory dinners is usually in the winter when the season is over.

Hello Big sacks,
There were no celebration dinners after beating yee lot.
After the All-Ireland the lads returned to cavan for a post match meal, and to let their hair down.
They enjoyed themselves no doubt, and I think they had cause for to do so, drinks were consumed but since when has that been a crime. Cavan Under 21's from 2005-2009 didn't win a single game at this grade, this group of lads and last years, combined to win a total of 5 out of 6 games in the ulster championship winning the Ulster championship this year and made it to an All-ireland. Let them celebrate their acheivement of doing all of that. Are you telling me that the Tyrone Boys didn't have a beer or two after we beat them?

What are you talkin about, the players went for a swim after the Ulster Final. Functions after it, yeah right. When they got back to Cavan town every place was closed.

Cavan posters very touchy !!!!
I think Tyrone have done pretty well in recent years and have won more than most counties.
So the odd loss isnt the end of the world.
