911141 congrats to cavan great to see ya's breaking your duck after 23 years... The years of hard work in underage level has finally paid off

There are a couple of issues with this statement. firstly "breaking your duck" would assume that this was the first time we won an ulster final. i think you'll find we have won 49 at senior level. and also i believe this is our third at under 21. secondly whats this 23 years about. We won the ulster under 21 final in 1996 and went on to defeat offally in the semi-final and lost narrowly to kerry in the final.

Sounds like it was a great game, best team won by all accounts and a fantastic crowd and all. I am genuinely delighted for Cavan football, they have always been the benckmark for Ulster and their roll of honour will never be surpassed, Ulster needs a strong Cavan and I know we are only talking about the U21 grade but this is and always has been an important stepping stone to the senior grade. Will be cheering you on at the weekend, best of luck against Wexford.

outstanding performance last night and all the way through the championship from the cavan lads, this team is a great example of what 15 players can do as a team with no individuals, everyone working for the same cause. after the heart break of last years final and the minor final tis team has grown from these experiences and become stronger. best of luck saturday

Poor form by the G.A.A. having the All-Ireland U.21 Semi-final 3 days after the Ulster Final !!
Not much chance to get over knocks or prepare for another big game !!
Why the rush ?

So much for being worried about player burn-out, ulster final on wednesday night, and less then 3 days later expected to play in an all-Ireland Semi-final.
I'm just wondering if it was Cork, or Kerry would they have to play 3 days later?
It seems that the Ulster champions are being punished because of the two Tyrone/Down replys, (a great example of intense, toe to toe football that is a credit to the game, and should be highlighted, instead the ulster champions get punished because they don't want to change the schedule).
What makes it more strange is the fact that the winners of the semi-final will then sit for 2 whole weeks before the final.

In all seriousness. Cavan have to play Wexford this Saturday after a tough game against Tyrone. It was no fault of theirs that there were so many replays.
I know I should be happy from a Wexford perspective but in all fairness. Wexford and many other teams have had similar problems in the past. It would be a different story if they had come through a back door type situation or something but they have gone the direct root.

Anyway hopefully we can beat Cavan at the weekend. Hopefully it will be a good game and the best team will win.

Cavan claimed a first Cadbury Ulster U21 title in 15 years last night. See some match clips, interviews with both managers and hear Cavan's U21 captain and Hero of the Match winner Gearoid McKiernan's thoughts.

Totally unfair that Cavan have to play on Saturday after they won the Ulster title last night. They whould have at least a week to recover and prepare for the Semi Final. U21 Championship is too rushed in my opinion and not giving the lads a fair chance to do themselves justice. Would like to wish Cavan all the best in the All-Ireland series, hope they can do Ulster proud.

Well done Cavan totally deserved win only grip is that "wee Tyrone" should have had a penalty five minutes from the end but it would have been rough justice if wee had of won the game . Good luck in the semi final play with the swagger you did against us and you's will be a real handful.

Great result for Cavan and I know that we will have a big following on Saturday night. I hope that it is the beginning of an upward curve for Cavan football. however we need to keep our feet on the ground and not get too carried away. We now know how to win so lets keep on winning.
