Canavan at his peak was the most exciting footballer I have seen. Joyce, Donnellan, Linden and Cooper were not bad either! MB1 (Tyrone) - Posts: 360 - 19/02/2011 10:36:44 871273 Link 0 |
Peter Canavan was my no 1 with Padraic Joyce, Dara o Se and Maurice Fitzgerald close behind. There have been many great players in this era. MARNELL (Westmeath) - Posts: 728 - 19/02/2011 11:04:50 871288 Link 0 |

For me, it is very hard to single out one or two individuals, so many great players with different roles to play, for example with out Brian McGuigan as I would regard as the best play maker in the game Tyrone would not have won 2003 and 2005 All Irelands and therefore Canavan and co would not have had the service to highlight their brillance at times. Although if put on the spot I would rate Cooper, Canavan, Joyce, Fitzgerald, Thomas O Se, Cavanagh as players when the chips were down they would have produced a kind of magic not capable from no other player against serious opposition and at the later stages of all irelands. checkmate (Tyrone) - Posts: 2 - 19/02/2011 11:40:18 871306 Link 0 |
Kieran Donaghy - a full backs nightmare, can catch any ball. Ciaran McDonald is the probably the best player to have never won an all ireland pitch_invader (Mayo) - Posts: 154 - 19/02/2011 11:46:34 871311 Link 0 |
Pádraig Joyce, Peter Canavan, Séamus Moynihan, Ciarán McDonald, Declan Browne, Colm Cooper, Stephen O'Neill and Stephen McDonnell have all been fantastic players to watch over the last 20 years. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13802 - 19/02/2011 12:22:02 871324 Link 0 |
