Who was the most aesthetically pleasing footballer to watch in the last 20 years? Id have to say Gooch, Ciaran MacDonald, our own Marty Clarke, Brian McGuigan, Giles, Maurice Fitz (who is miles ahead of everyone), Geraghty, Marc O'Se, Niall MacNamee. fbpurist (Down) - Posts: 5 - 18/02/2011 17:09:51 870907 Link 0 |

For me it over the last 20 years it would be Maurice Fitz comfortably but I also loved watching Stephen O'Neill and Padraig Joyce, two artists of the game. eviemonkey (Cork) - Posts: 308 - 18/02/2011 17:35:31 870931 Link 0 |
It's a battle between the gooch and maurice fitz. I'd go for maurice fitz due to his long range scoring and ability off both feet. The gooch however is more prolific. Other honourable mentions must go to kieran mcdonald, bernard brogan, peter canavan, declan o sullivan and padraig joyce among others. It's a cliche but it really has been a golden age. mikeoc (Kerry) - Posts: 567 - 18/02/2011 17:47:18 870940 Link 0 |

A special mention to the legendary seamus moynihan. He had skill, pace, vision and incredible workrate. Also his delivery of a shoulder was like watching a scarecrow get hit by a train. mikeoc (Kerry) - Posts: 567 - 18/02/2011 18:24:22 870974 Link 0 |

"aesthetically pleasing"? That rules out players who didn't have year round tans I suppose. Understandable then why there's so many votes for Maurice Fitz & Ciaran McD. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 4151 - 18/02/2011 18:55:56 871025 Link 0 |
For me the skill and grace of Maurice Fitz was a joy to behold. After that Gooch, Stephen O'Neill, some of Owen Mulligans dummies unreal, Padraic Joyce and Ciaran MacDonald. StJude (Roscommon) - Posts: 87 - 18/02/2011 19:00:37 871038 Link 0 |
For the list of those there or thereabouts in terms of excitement Jayo deserves a mention as does Declan Browne, Vinny Claffey, Stephen O'Neill, Stevie from Killeavey and hopefully whenever Johnny Doyle retires people might give him the recognition he deserves. doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 18/02/2011 19:13:40 871058 Link 0 |
