I don't think you are dreaming Slayer when you say want Limerick or Clare to contest a Munster final. There is no reason why either of them can not win it this year.

in what year, in which century and in what sport??

Who are Waterford and Galway Thurlesblues? One will be bringing ye back down to earth in this years Munster Final if ye manage not to **** the course against Cork and the other will prob knock ye out of the championship in a backdoor quarter final. Cant wait till yere bought of yere high horses. The game against Kilkenny is just a preview of the disappointment that lays ahead for ye this year. Convinced of that.

As much as i'm glad to see Limerick back, there will be a lot of pressure on them this year. The majority of the players played in the 2009 semi against Tipp, they've finally got what they wanted, a fresh start so make it count. A munster final appearance and a semi final would be a decent year. As for the waterford lad, maybe you should stop slating Tipp and be more concerned with how davy is getting on with your crowd.

Mulman:

I think O' Grady should have brought in some more new blood when he had the chance but i suppose he's only going to be there for a year maybe just to sort out the problem within limerick hurling.

Hag I think O'Grady has made an absolutely brilliant start. First off he has insulted or offended nobody. He never speaks of '09 or '10 panel, he speaks only of the '11 panel. Sure he even contacted Ollie Moran and Mark Foley. Now I am sure he will have the best 15 to play to his game plan when we play the first round of the championship. That 15 may not be everyone's idea as to who our best players are, but from what I saw last Sunday in Ennis if you cannot find a man with the ball you are in trouble, the days of blasting the ball from defence and hoping a forward will win it are gone. A player must be able to control it at his ease, move at pace and find a teamate, if you cannot score yourself. We have to back the manager and his gameplan, otherwise why have him, sure any 5 of us on HS could pick our best 15 and let them have a go. O Grady has a plan, the players must fit into that plan and the supporters must row in with it also. I am getting optimistic again at this time of year as I have done every year except last year for the last 40 years. Come on Limerick

Clubgaa:

True enough Clubgaa man O'grady is no dope.... but 1 year (think that was what o'grady wanted) isn't enough time to make a lasting impact I'd say your hoping for longer?? I mean if he went in their and was told you'll be there for 3 years mimimun I'd say he would have changed the personal a bit more.

What do you think?

The one year idea is being pushed by O'Grady, I would like to believe that if he is happy with his first year, he may extend that. By happy I mean that the players react well to him as a manager, that the county board run thier affairs professionally and that we have some level of success on the field. Winning league 2, winning a munster championship game, getting to an AI QF would be an improvement and that may convince O'Grady to stay longer. Any nonsense from the players or county board and he is out the door I'd say.

I agree totally with clubgaa. O'Grady has set the plan. Justin's first year was poor, his second a disaster. O'Grady has chosen to avoid that.

My one worry is that this is the third manager in 5 years who has tried to change our gameplan. Joe McKenna & his coach Ger Cunningham (Knockainey Ger, not Cork Ger) tried it & when we lost the 2006 NHL final to Kilkenny, the players lost faith & defeats to Tipp & Clare followed in Championship. Then Joe McKenna walked. I know for a fact the players didn't revolt over the manager, it was the coach trying to get the players to play the Newtownshandrum game that he had helped develop.

Justin also tried ot change tactics, but things went so badly in his tenure it was hard to see what our tactics were. That's not a criticism of him, it's just how it panned out. Now Donal O'Grady is trying to impose the cork game on us again. This time it seems it could work as the players seem happy, the training sesssions seem to have championship intensity and everyone seems to be buying into the O'Grady plan.

Richie Bennis tore up the short passing/running game plan and went back to long direct physical hurling. This took us past some teams as there was an intensity to our play in 2007 that Tipp, Clare & Waterford could not match. But Kilkenny could and they met us and beat us in everything we threwat them. Now something new is needed and as clubgaa has said blasting a ball out of defence & hoping to win it in the forwards is old news. If we're going to match the best we have to deny them the ball.

Hopefully in 2011 we can make the progress needed to keep O'Grady as gaffer next year & win something major. It might seem like a dream now, but every marathon begins with one step forward. Good luck to the lads involved.

Hilarious! I enjoy thurlesblues though - to be fair all his predictions came through last year even if he did annoy the bejayzus out of us all along the way!
