Plenty of people from other Leinster counties attend Leinster matches so the comparison isn't valid, really is it? However the Dub county board have clearly referenced the success of Leinster when outlining why they are trying their approach to their home league games this year so there is something in it. Also I have to say that to state Dublin sell-out Croke Park for all matches simply isn't true even if these attendances are far bigger than any other county.

read what i said again as i did not say for all matches i said most matches

Hill16man soccer is the most played sport in Ireland, the ESRI complied a comprehensive study on sports participation in Ireland. I'm sure if you google it you can look it up. Dublin rarely sell out Croke park these days - less than 20k at one match last year. Leinster get bigger crowds for league than Dublin. Parnell park is tiny. By the way I live in Dublin, not that it makes any difference.

even the dublin county board says its because the popularity of rugby- but the posters on here just cant bear to hear that so they try to dismiss it- who know more the county board or some supporter- rugby is the heartbeat of the nation folks you would be aswell to embrace it cause its pointless denying it

Rugby is a social scene as much as a sport in this country.
Went to a couple of internationals in Croke Park.
The amount of people around me on their mobiles during the game, or spending most of the game at the bar, or just chatting away amongst themselves etc. was baffling.
I'd say they went into work on the Monday and were full of chat about how they were "At the rugby".
They were at it alright, but they weren't watching it.
Rugby in this country has a small, hardcore support primarily borne out of the fee-paying schools system.
It also has a lot of social-climbing hangers-on that want to be part of that scene and move in those circles.
They're not that bothered about the actual sport.

esri i dont care as you will find in most country towns in ireland a church post office and gaa club not soccer or rugby so they would eant to check that survey again or was it john delaney comprising it.as for less than 20k you are wrong the match against tipp was the lowest attendance 22 thousand so get your facts right and that was a qualifier which normaly attends 3 to 4 thousnad for any other county so that was a good attendance,in there two leinster championship matches they got over 125 thousand you are telling me leinster could get that in two heineken cup pool matches leinster get 15thousand for league games parnell held only 10 thousand so wait and see how many dublin get in croker for league matches and i could guarnatee be more then 15 thousand somewere around 40thousand an average i would say.yes well you obviously live on the southside of dublin and dont travel over to the northside as rugby is as popular as cricket or hockey this side of the city.

Lads,Lads, Lads... when it comes to GAA there is no Northside/Southside divide... We're all true blues.

We need to look out for each other... we've enough trouble promoting Gaelic Games in the county as it is....

The Southside has the hurling and football county champions and the Northside has the division one cricket champions. Clontarf are also top of Div 1B in the AIB league.....seems like there is a good mix of GAA, rugby and cricket across both sides of the liffey.

Leinster are dublin's biggest rivals. They're playing league games in croke park because they feel rugby is taking over.

HAHAHAHAHA
are you for real mate leinster pull in 15 thousand for there big matches the dubs pull in 82thousnad do the maths mate
its gas to hear a guy sitting on his farm in kerry how many miles away from dublin who complains about having to make too long a journey to croke park for 1 match a year but yet presumes to know what people in dublin attend more, worry about your own team getting a crowd, your just jeaous dublin have asupport base big enough to play in croke park and that the national league will actualy get some marketing were as most kerry people only market there team the month before a final

Gaa was nothing in dublin before heffo in the 70s. Dubs will go where the entertainment is. In dublin they have to market their team,in kerry we dont have to do that as football is a religion down here. It's seems your still bitter about the hammering we gave ye in 2009. It's you that should worry about your own team. When kerry play dublin kerry win. Your 6.30 training sessions wont change anything,we'll do the same this year.

Mikeoc, football is a religion down there, is it? Is that because hardly anyone goes to mass anymore because Kerry do no get good crowds in the league?

We have the best scenery in the country, the best beaches, the best towns/villages,the best people and the best footballers.
It's called the kingdom for a reason. Kerry is better than dublin in every single way.

"I SPENT the weekend involved in the right sort of bailout. On Saturday the GAA in Kildare staged a testimonial game for Anthony Rainbow with the benefits going to two charities. Congratulations to everybody involved. We had a great time and it struck me that if it was down in Kerry we wouldn't get a hundred people through the gates but in Kildare they pulled in almost 5,000 people."

I wont bother list our Pros... There's a reason why hundreds of thousands of your fellow county men/women have worked and lived and brought up families in Dublin rather than Kerry.

BUT.. AND IT'S AN OPRAH SIZED ONE...

Without a shadow of a doubt Kerry is beautiful... I loved my visits down there... brought my fly rod down, sheer bliss...

I went out with a Killarney woman, none of her brothers were into GAA, honestly.

I'd go down and marvel at the lakes, the mountians, the untouched Oak forests, The waterfalls, The fishing... etc etc.

They were bored of them.

I'd hire a boat to head out from Ross castle for a days fishing.. they didnt know how to fish... they'd barely even been out on the lake.

Do you know where they all live and work now...? I'll give you a clue... It's where I'm from.

Here's another few for your list...

Outward migration

A Failing over priced tourist industry

Oye hill16no1man and Kildare boy knocking Kerry, lets stop slagging eachother. It is not a time to haggle about the problems or rivalries, it is a time for solutions. each county has quite a bit to offer to the GAA. I have huge hopes that the Dubz do well in both hurling and football, it will be good for everyone. Because one thing that occurs when the Dubz do well is we country boys get more intense with the desire to bate' ye'. Up the Dubz and I too am in the Southside, at times. But I travel to Croker which brings me to the North side ? So does it really matter what side I am on ? The GAA have their own stadium !!!!!!!

Best scenery? - You've obviously never taken a stroll down the Strand. You will sights there that you'd never see in Kerry.

Best beaches? - I love Derrynane beach. Idyllic but it has nothing on Dollier!

Best towns/villages? - I love Caherdaniel village as its such a beautiful spot but several Dublin villages are equally as nice. Stoneybatter is just one example.

Best people? - Jackie Healy-Rae and John O'Donaghue.

Best footballers? - I'll give you that alright.

Finally you said "Kerry is better than dublin in every single way" - then why are so many of yous in Dublin?
