booboo from Cork suggest the langer song.

When you consider all the great Cork songs, such as Beautful City, The Banks, Skibbereen, Woods of Upton ,Charlie Hurley, Kilmichael, Mount Massey, Bould Thady Quill, the langer song is the greatest drivel ever sang.
Shanagolder from Limerick a great song, Valley of Knockanure from North Kerry, so many to choose

Millions of them, literally.

But given the topic, delivery and relevance, Paul Brady and "The Island" must be well up there.

the words are wonderful, truly inspirational.

You beat me to Patrique, a beautiful and poignant song

Also impossible to choose just one from Rory Gallagher's collection

Hard to go for one so I've put a few in the mix. Hard to pick the best artists to, but here you go.

When only our rivers run free - The Tones, Christy does a lovely version also.

Freedom Walk - Barleycorn, B side to Men behind the wire. I will always remember these to songs. When Internment came in the early 70's we had to hide them in the loft. MY mum and dad would come home from the club Saturday night and we'd get them down.

Voyage - Christy Moore Beautiful

Song For Ireland - Mary Black Top song, top voice again many artists sang this but i prefer Mary's version.

The Green and Red of Mayo - Sawdoctors, the best song the doctors have done to date. Mayo bias there of course!!!

The town i loved so well - The Dubliners Just quality, again many versions, i went for the Dubs.

Amhrán eile iontach as Gaeilge. Ní raibh mé in ann leagan maith a fháil ach is seo an ceann is fearr a d'aimsigh mé!
