Hurlingspuds has very little knowledge of what good music is. Horselips could hardly even tune their instruments correctly.
LaFlour totally agree with your choice of song, in fact i think Luke Kelly as a singer must be the best this country has ever produced and it is so hard to decide which song of his to pick as many of his songs were scottish, but songs like Song for Ireland are part of our national identity and sadly many people seem to ignore this and listen to the noise produced by some of the 'singers' (and i use that word very losely with regard to current music) of today who wouldn't know what good music is.

Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh!

Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh!

'Sé do bheatha a bhean ba léanmhar,
B' é ár gcreach tú bheith i ngéibhinn,
Do dhúiche bhreá i seilibh meirleach...
Is tú díolta leis na Gallaibh!

Tá Gráinne Mhaol ag teacht thar sáile,
Óglaigh armtha léi mar gharda,
Gaeil iad féin is ní Gaill ná Spáinnigh...
Is cuirfidh siad ruaig ar Ghallaibh!

A bhuí le Rí na bhFeart go bhfeiceann,
Muna mbíonn beo ina dhiaidh ach seachtain,
Gráinne Mhaol is míle gaiscíoch...
Ag fógairt fáin ar Ghallaibh!

There's lots of good music out there...loads. In ireland and abroad. You can't argue with trouble with a capital T. What a song!!
