Those whom the Gods love, die young..........as it was for the Ancient Greeks, so it is today! What a tragedy. Funny, I worked with a girl who came from Mauritius, I always thought it to be an island paradise, I never knew it was such a dangerous place for tourists?
My heart goes out to both the Harte and McAreavey families. God knows, Micky Harte and the Tyrone squad have been visited by more than enough tragedies in the last few years. I've been out of work for the last 12 months and am struggling, like so many others in Ireland, to make ends meet, but when you hear of a tragedy like this, it certainly puts your own problems into perspective. Condolences to both the Harte and McAreavey families. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.

RIP Michaela, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. Totally numb and shocked from this terrible news. Prayers and sympathy go out to my fellow Down GAA Gael John McAreavey and his family along with the entire Harte family and wider GAA community throughout Tír Eoghain and Ireland.

A dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam fíor dhílis.

To the Harte family and to the late Michaela's husband my heartfelt sympathy.

Words cannot describe such a tragedy that has so undeservedly befallen these good people. The whole GAA family shares in their grief at this time and hopefully the extended GAA family will help them in coming to terms with their heavy difficult burden over the days, weeks & months ahead.

Slán leat Michaela. Níl tú imithe uainn ach imithe rómhainn.

Unlike every other thread on this forum, there is nothing positive to say here. Words are utterly useless.

For what it's worth, I'd like to add my own condolences to all of those above. May she rest in peace.

Terrible way for any family to loose a daughter. I hope that Micky and the family and indeed her new husband can appreciate the little time that they had with Michaela and can somehow rebuild their lives.

As for Micky himself I hope that the unmovable faith that he has in the Church will somehow get him through this latest trauma.

I just jope as I am sure everyone else does that the person/people that carried out this cowardly act are brought to justice, if for nothing else for the sake of the family and freinds of this young lady so they can try to make some sense of what ever motive may have been behind this act.

Rest in peace Michaela, and I hope you are now in the presence of your close friends Cormac and Paul.
