This must be a nightmare for the Harte and McAreavy family's, you just cant comprehend what has happened and on the other side of the world too. There really is no logic to any of this and as a father I never want to be in the position Mickey Harte finds himself in today. To lose a beloved daughter is one thing but in these circumstances, it just doesnt bear thinking about. Mickey is a strong character and he will need all of that strength to carry on in the coming days and weeks, he has been able to motivate others to greater things and I hope he has retained some of that motivation for himself and his family. My thoughts are with Michaela and all of her family and friends.

A terrible thing to happen to both families

I'll always remember MH embracing his family after the All Ireland Final… A sheer joy to behold! Beautiful…

No words of mine would be grand enough to even imagine.

I hope the media respects both families and that she can be brought home as quickly as possible to be with her family and Friends

Can only say that I am shocked. Michaela was a beautiful girl whom we all came to know chiefly by her appearance on the Late Late Show some years back. She absolutely charmed the whole country that night and I remember the following Monday all the talk in our office was her appearance on the show. She was so proud of her Dad, her family and her county that it would do your heart good just to listen to her. To her Family and the people of Tyrone I extend my deepest sympathies.

That has got to be the worst nightmare scenario ever to befall a newly wed couple. Truely tragic. R.I.P.

Reports this morning are saying she was strangled. What is a terrible situation for the Hartes is just getting worse and worse and worse.

I feel so bad for them, I really hope they can make it through this

Sincerest sympathies to them

The Hartes of Tyrone have represented everything that is good about the GAA for every family in Ireland over the past 10 years. Being lucky enough to see your county win an All Ireland does not happen for everyone but everybody who saw Mickey Harte celebrate with his daughter after their first win got to feel good and shared the victory with Tyrone. It was one of those special moments that only the GAA can give you. It is therefore, sad beyond words to see this tragedy being visited on a family that has done so much to bring joy to the whole country. Rest in Peace Michaela.

This is so sad, i think like alot of tyrone supporters we have grew up watching michaela on the sidelines with her dad. No words could ever describe what has just happened this young woman. All we can do is pray for her and all her family and friends. Cant imagine her not there by mickeys side. It's heart breaking.
