Tragedy in Tyrone - Michaela Harte

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

The greatest of respect to Mickey Harte and his family. I like most/all of you saw his statement on RTE last night and he spoke with such composure, love and dignity to the whole country on what has to be the worst day of his life.

He is clearly a strong, brave man, a credit to himself, his family and his county. His daughter would be proud of him. Now they need to get through this difficult time and the media should leave them alone.

Michaela may you be beside the angels that look down and give strength to all that grieve of your passing. The shock of such disregard for life, has burdened many throughout the Island of Ireland and indeed the world. This sorrow and love is a result of the sheer joy, you and your family gave us. You and they will be in our hearts and prayers. Rest in peace.

Micky Harte's interview just blew me away; I felt like bawling. The man is a role model in so many ways and again he shows his compassion and dignity in what must be the worse nightmare in his life. As others have said, he is a credit to our country, GAA, Tyrone and an example to parents. Talking to people down here, I feel many, many people are sad at the loss of such a beautiful young girl in such a tragic, terrifying manner. RIP Michaela.

Sincerest condolences to the Harte and McAreavey families. Whilst she was only on this earth for a short while, she touched a lot of people.

God bless.

My heart goes out to the Harte family and to Michaelas husband. Its one of the saddest things that has happened. I never knew the girl personally but from seeing her on tv she seemed like a gem. I just dunno what the world is coming to, This has deeply saddened me and i only hope that God will look after those who mourn Michaelas death. R.I.P. Tyrones little angel

What has happened is very difficult to comprehend. In your short life you have been a credit to your family and a role model for young men and women throughout the country; Heaven's gain is Ireland's loss. Rest in peace.

Michaela may you rest in peace, and may your husband John and your family find solace in remembering that this parting is only for a short time and they will all be reunited some day.

Its times like these when we see the true spirit of the GAA and the Irish people. We are one big family, we slag and slate each other like 2 siblings and when the chips are down we support each other.

RIP Michaela, another angel Gael.

Sympathies to the Harte and McAreavey family's especially her husband. I was very impressed by the strength and dignity of Mickey Harte during his TV statement. There are not many who could show similar fortitude at what must be an extremely difficult time. May she rest in peace.
