Why do people dislike Tipperary?

Lol its a good thing alright Hag we would be totally without his input. Supermac that is no easy feat alright, Lee is a good enough player to play anywhere I think. Centre forward is a problem position for most counties, Shefflin is without doubt the best in the game right now for that position but then again that man is superb whatever position he plays. Just about JC aswell I think he wasn't able to train properly last year with his injuries hence he wasn't fully fit, I hope he gets himself right because there has been so much talk questioning his ability which is totally out of order. In my opinion there isn't a team in the country he would not walk onto same with John Lee, they are just too good. Just a question how is Shefflin and Tennyson coming along with their injuries does anyone know? Last I heard Tennyson was a little behind Shefflin, they are expected back around middle of the league is it?

Neither will be back before June at the earliest so you are looking at Leinster final onwards.

I thought we deserved it but pat has put me straight in the fact that we were very very lucky, and also because cork beat us in the first round they really are the true all-ireland champions.

Pat who????He/She must be an eejit.

Although Cork hammered Tipp everyone knows the rules of the back door and whoever wins in September are the champs. But that result and the Galway game, and the final V Kilkenny without Sheflin, would suggest that Tipp are not the outstanding side some suspect.

My own view would be that Tipp and Galway would be level behind Kilkenny.

You can let Pat know that.

Our biggest problem is centre forward like I said and we dont win enough of our own puck-outs and we cant win much ball in the air in the half forward line which if i am correct is the same problem that Tipp had da last couple of years but Tipp went away and worked on it and won liam last september anyway enough about Galway.

Really looking forward to see how Limerick fair out this year..will last year have a big impact on their Hurling or will the hurt drive them on to have a good year, playing division 2 Hurling will surely not benefit them much..Donal Og Grady is the right man to sort out the mess they found themselves in but I just wonder is there any rift in the Limerick Dressing room between players that went on strike and players who did make themselves available last year to Justin McCarthy??

Supermacs88:

True enough, Galway are short a target man kinda in the Joe Rabbit mould, their half forward line is kinda small.... Tipp did a fair bit of thinkering at half forward last year Callinan for the size of him just dosen't win enough ball he makes more impact when he gets a bit of space they tried Shane McGrath there but really your robbing peter to pay paul doing that he position is midfield, Luckily enough Noel Mcgrath worked when they moved him there the turning point in the season was the waterford game. I do think McIntyre is doing the right stuff with galway and after they got hammered in the league by tipp i think that when he got they players on side. The second half of that match was probably the worst proformance I ever saw by a galway team they not no heart or fight in them.... They were a polar opposite in the championship match against tipp and if they'd won it no-one could say they wouldn't have deserved it think it was tipps expireance that got them throught even if people say it was referring decisions that won it for them.

Will be interesting to see what o'grady dose alright I agree he's the man for the job but it'll be interesting to see what he can do in a year I think Limerick need a few years to sort themselves out and what i hear the squad is going to be pretty much the squad before the player dispute, not sure that's the way to go? Their is a few players that deserve to be dropped but really McCarthy dropped some players that have plenty still to offer and also they way he did it was the nail in his coffin.

Limerick have had their fair share of problems but I like this Limerick management there will be no lack of respect between players and management this year. I have a good few friends who are Limerick fans and they are superb fans. They have a good team its just they don't have the belief in themselves. I think there is a big game in them always and you can never underestimate them. On another point I am very disappointed Tony Griffin retired he has a lot still to offer Clare hurling in my opinion and with all these fine young hurlers Clare have coming through I felt he could have been there talisman and given good leadership to the younger guys. Hag Tipp's half forward line had a good semi and final last year but centre is still not a settled position, Lar played a good deal of the final at centre and with his injury now that could be a huge blow or a huge opportunity for O Meara or Hennessy depends which way you look at it I guess. This is gonna be a tough year in Waterford for Davy aswell because he has plenty of critics there now

Davy Fitz is a good trainer but his man management skills are poor.
He was managing a club in Galway and he turned alot of lads off playing, he would pick 15 starting players and more or less ignore everyone else on the squad.
He had a good go at one of the players at that club in the national tabloids which was a bit childish saying he was not upto Intercounty standard and believe me he is one of Galways better players.

Tipp fans are not liked because they are bad losers but even worse winners. Like all counties the vast majority of their supporters are fine but you judge a county supporters on the fair-weather supporters. Not very friendly, dont do the banter or the craic with opposition supporters, because your wearing a different colour jersey your automatically the enemy and you have no right to even acknowledge them. You are jealous because you dont have players like Eoin Kelly, Noel McGrath or Larry Corbett and you are jealous because you are not from Tipp. I have some bad experiences with Tipp supporters the most recent springs to mind when I told a Tipp fan after last years all-Ireland semi that I hope ye d win the final. I was told with a bitter face:' We'll do better than ye ever would anyway..' Thought it was hilarious the level of arrogance and obnoxiousness then again quite used to it!!
Found myself shouting for Kilkenny in the final again!!! Even though this Tipp team deserved to win the all-ireland. I think anyone from any other hurling county knows exactly where im coming from here...

I had the same expireance with waterford fans they are the worst winners you can meet, nearly as bad as clare people..... in comparison to cork and limerick supporters their's a massive gap I've always had time for cork and limerick supporters win loose or draw you can have a bit of craic (even if they don't like us) with them but there's no talking to waterford and clare supporters.

when you are the aristocrats of the game and the home of hurling . And in a different class to the rest you are hated.

Do they hurl in Tipp. I was looking at the club semis at ALL grades and there doesn't seem to be a tipp team in it. All from Galway, Cork, Kilkenny, Antrim, and .......Monaghan.

Would Tipp be as good as ANY of the above?

Will you look at who's back, did it take you that long to recover from Sarsfields getting knocked out.

What are your prdictions for the comming season Tipp by 10 again in the all-ireland right, u21 to win by 35 and the minor to round it off with a 40 point win, maybe we'll have a whitewash of all competitions and Thurles to walk the club championship in 2012!!

Now this is one of the arrogant tipperary lot!!

ahh welcome back Mr. Thurlesblues...!!! you had been conspicuous by your absence on these boards since Thurles Sars were beaten in the Munster club final..... remember how you were saying that Thurles were head and shoulders above everyone else in the weeks before the game?? then everyone was looking for your response the following week after the game and you were nowhere to be found even though you had posted around 20 messages in the few days before hand!!!!! Funny that.

It seems the return of thurlesblue after several weeks being griefstricken since Thurles were knocked out of Munster (yet again) adds much weight to Patrique's theory of Tipp supporters general arrogance!
