If Tipp and Kilkenny meet in the final in 2011 for the 16th final between the counties will it be Tipp 11 wins to Kilkenny 5 or Tipp 10 to Kilkenny 6 thurlesblues (Tipperary) - Posts: 4475 - 22/02/2011 21:19:43 874104 Link 0 |
Thurlesblouse Tipp won 4 football AI's back nearly a centry ago and how is that more than Galway's 4 hurling AI's? You obviously can't count now as well as everything else that's wrong with you! By the Galway have won 9 football AI's in case you didn't know and we don't have to go back nearly 100 years to our last one! tommy k (Galway) - Posts: 3470 - 23/02/2011 09:45:03 874202 Link 0 |
is it mid term break? Thurlesblues seems to be posting alot. And also helping show why some people may not take to Tipp. Puddersthecat (Kilkenny) - Posts: 1692 - 23/02/2011 11:47:55 874306 Link 0 |

This is how bad things are getting at this stage, was reading the usual speal from the blouse and for a split second it entered my head "I hope they loose to show that him up" the fecker is even turning me against my own team at this stage. Pudders: Doubt it, got cousins in Limerick that want Tipp to do the 2 in a row, of course that's if they don't win it themselves. Mulman (Tipperary) - Posts: 562 - 23/02/2011 20:13:52 874919 Link 0 |

Mulman, do your cousins post on here? My reference to ABT was in relation to the posts by Thurlesblues where he slates every other county other than Tipp and Cork and talks about handy all irelands. It is a bit tiresome when a good hurling thread is going, thurles comes on and ruins it with 20 posts talking bull. But sometimes he is humourous. What happened your "handy ones" in 2002 & 2003 when you had a duty as All-Ireland champions from 2001 to prove that the victory vs Galway wasn't just a one-off? What happened to your "handy ones" during two high scoring league finals of the last decade when you had an obligation to add to your twenty league titles? What happened to your "handy one" in 2009 when Kk beat the bookies handicap for the seventh time out of seven in an AI against a Munster team during said decade. Tipp may well be there or thereabouts at the beginning of Sept. but look at their record when it comes to retaining AIs. To quote the words of a song I once used to listen to "that don't impress me much." It's interesting also that despite the 80s & 90s being Kk's worst decades by a country mile in living memory they still managed to: (a) Retain an AI title. (b) Achieve a higher quota of AIs than Tipp. If Tipp ever pass out Kk on the Roll of Honour I'll be expecting temperatures to plummet to under 32 degrees Fahrenheit in the infernal regions! naglfar95 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 24 - 08/03/2011 20:15:37 884157 Link 0 |

I like how you conveniently ignore the fact that Tipp and Cork both won six AIs each before Kk won their first. They came in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Let's be frank here-the only reason Cork & Tipp are anywhere near Kk on the Roll of Honour is on the strength of AIs won in an era when: (a) Fitness regimes ranged from the farcical to non-existent. (b) Porkies looked like plumbers. (c) The games were amateur in every aspect. (d) Goalies received no protection and you could legally bundle sliotar and goalkeeper into the net. (e) Finals ended in scorelines like 7-0 to 6-2 ie the type of score you'd now see at an under eight camogie match. (f) Games ended in cricket scores/goal inflation. (g) No square ball-forwards camped in the parallelogram. (h) The third man tackle was widely used-to be rightly discontinued in the early 70s when some counties found it very hard to adapt to this change! When hurling became credible it soon became apparent who led the way. This inspite of the fact that Kk have fewer GAA clubs than any county in Ireland bar Leitrim and Carlow! Are you looking forward to your AI Club Final by the way Thurlesblues? naglfar95 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 24 - 08/03/2011 20:58:24 884200 Link 0 |
Nagalfar95: Blah, Blah,Blah. I've been a long time reader of this site and whenever your name crops up, it inevitably revolves around Tipp bashing. Seriously, have you anything else to offer? Its getting old at this stage. Tipp's record is poor hen it comes to retention of Liam but it is a new year and i am looking forward rather than back, maybe you could do the same. If I see the county I'm proud to be associatied with getting a hard time of course I'm going to speak out. And to be fair during my last post I was pointing out that the standard of hurling in the era I referred to was by today's standards extremely poor where rules were experimental and mediocrity reigned. naglfar95 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 24 - 08/03/2011 21:13:48 884223 Link 0 |
