But NOT the club?

Surely not?

Don't see much of this arrogance anyway, its just like each county. You have a minority who give them a bad name. I was coming home from the league match and a limerick lad told me Tipp got what they dserved for stopping the five in a row. It was sad to see around my area during the match when Maher had to be taken off, didn't see too many kk fans giving him an ovation. Yeah it mightn't be much, but a little respect goes a long way.

thurlesblues, what about the club all ireland. Given that the club is the cornerstone of the GAA, you must be very excited about Thurles' involvement in the club all ireland. Who have they got in the semi-final?

I'll get into the thurlesblues mindframe to answear this one.... here goes.

Not only will we win it but we'll win it with a team made up of U-16's just so other counties think they have a decent chance!!

Maybe some of them did, but around my area i saw very few, i just hope he's ok. It shouldn't matter whether a player has a huge load of medals or not, the least they deserve is the respect of both sets of supporters if he breaks down. I thought it was a poor game overall. Tipp did very well in first 20minutes then they just faded, presumably down to lack of fitness. A lot of work to do, but no reason not to be optimisitic. Brendan Maher, shane mcgrath and Pa Bourke played great stuff at times.

Looked like a shoulder injury right, maher not a lad that gets injured easily.

True enough poor enough but the conditions didn't help, kilkenny looked way sharper were able to find the free men a bit more easily. Tipp tented to hold on to the ball a bit too much should be off loading faster before they got bottled, also the short stick passes weren't hitting the target as they did last year. Also players were taking way too many touches, one major criticsm I have of pa bourke is that he always tries to control the ball on the hurl, put your hand out and catch it you won't get away with additional touches in championship hurling you might in club hurling. Saying that he started well but faded.

Young did ok aswell but he's another player that has to come up to championship pace he was blocked down a few times didn't check if he was in space and just threw the ball up in front of the kilkenny lads but that something he'll have to learn he's a great man to catch a ball and burst out of defence.

Conor o'brien was caught out a few times comming out to get balls and missing them looked like kilkenny we'er targeting him in the end. Main problem was that ball was not stick in the forwards it was pumped in but came straight back out again. But saying that it wasn't a disasterious first outing there's plenty to improve on and match practise should help there. Kilkenny had a bit of a head start in training this year the lads are only back from the caribeen a few weeks.

Now that i think of it the slap he got before that was to the shoulder, it looked like a groin strain was the reason he went off??

Tipp were not keeping it simple when using the ball, i thought David Young was solid enough and in time I think he would become a decent replacement for Fanning. Stapleton and P Maher were decent too but not really tested. It was great to see Maher at one stage coming past 3 or 4 kk tackles with the ball in hand. O'Mahony was quiet but he kept Fennelly quiet until the switch was made. Midfield was good but it was unfortunate to see the lads go off. Forwards were decent in spasms. Think they all nearly got a point at some stage. Yeah i'm not sure what happened with Maher, whatever TJ Reid caused him a bit of bother.

most counties hate Tipp because of the beatings wev given them down through the years particularly Kilkenny whereas we dont mind playing against any county.
Although I would say that Cork are ok

I wonder will that Limerick chap be saying that some county deserves what they get if they were to stop Tipp doing five in a row. Most counties want to see Tipp beaten now cos they dont want us dominating like the 60s. However we will do them no favours!!

Well thurles if he keeps up that kind of talk, i won't mind. He was at the same thing last year before the final. I'd hate it if he managed the Limerick team. I read the Independent last Monday, it was about the match an the last words went something like this: 'The cats look like the team to beat'. I think most of them were dissapointed to see Tipp win last year. You're right about cork, alaways enjoyed matches with them and good banter with their fans as it should be.

shure isnt it great that theyre talking up Kilkenny like that Mulman suits Tipp down to the ground

talk is cheap Tipp showed last year what class is all about a bitter pill for many to swallow including the pundits!!!
Not even a word about the Tipp u21 slaughter of Galway kast year by 25 points If that was Kilkenny they would be talking about the great so called conveyor belt!!
Just sit back and gloat and smile Mulman two in a row is coming up

A lot of it is just sheer begrudgery take it as a compliment to our tradition and clas Mulman

Thurles may not be a village, but it clearly doesn't stop them from having their very own idiot.
