Let us put things into perspective here.

Someone sent bullets to two people associated with Glasgow Celtic football club. As the two people concerned are from N.Ireland it is safe to assume it has some sort of "loyalist" connection.

However it was not the entire Unionist community who did this, it was not the IFA who have rid Windsor Park of most of the bigots (what can they do to stop this type of incident?) and it was not the entire Glasgow Rangers supporters either.

I heard they had a big meeting and unanimously decided that the best course of action at this stage was to send bullets to two football players.

It makes a lot more sense then your reasoned summary.

I agree with that, but its a shame none of this is said when the usual suspects make the same generalisations about celtic fans.

Massive generalisations are par for the course round here man. It happens from both sides. Certain posters are worse than others and it shows in the debates (for the want of a better word).

Everything is a black and white issue. Also you only have to see the name of a thread and you automatically know some posters arguments before reading it!

Disgraceful. Sometimes it really is just sport. I get really fed up of people twisting the Old Firm in to an extension of a sectarian conflict, it causes lives to be put at risk.

Sadly, that is exactly what it is

You will need to put that into some form of meaningful English, as I have absolutely no idea what you are saying.

People in Northern Ireland receive death threats every day. No small matter to those involved but small to those of us who survived the troubles.

When some incident like this happens why do some people condemn,n an entire section of the community? That was the question I posed.

I genuinely have no idea what you are suggesting.

I hope you do.

Greengrass, le20, How can the issue have been 'resolved'? Unless these guys have access to a time machine I dont see how it could have been resolved. The ira murdered his father and two uncles. If that wasnt bad enough fellow players called him all sorts during play, not to mention the obligatory bile from the stands. If a couple of bullets from some anonymous idiot can create this much furore, I can only imagine the pending outrage that will erupt on here when they read the extent of abuse in that article.
The point is we like getting up on our high horses when the chance arises to have a tut tut at 'the brits', but a little searching on our own door step shows that maybe we arent so much holier than they are after all.

The Master. That is an old story. At the time everyone was rightly outraged by the abuse this fella got. What is it about you Mayo posters? We all wish we were as enlightened as yourself paddy and ballboy. Unfortunatley we neandertahls can only look on in awe at such a fine, upstanding lecturing bunch.

No GENUINE Irish Gael I know, particularly from Tyrone, would EVER try to blame Neil Lennon for the Loyalist hate campaign that has been waged against him for the good part of a decade. His main fault, in these evil bigots eyes, is that he played for Celtic AND the North at the same time, he was an Irish Catholic.....a Nordie one at that and he refused to cow down to these scumbags. I know Scotland quite well and from experience in the North can say that the level of hatred against all things Irish, Catholic, Celtic in both places is becoming quite intense again. The Scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien has spoken out often against anti-Catholic and anti-Irish intolerance in Scotland which is as bad as the North at times. The Scottish media, no friends to either Ireland, Catholic and Celtic, does a great job of covering up, ignoring and deflecting away from this. This xenophobic abuse drove the Irish soccer player Aiden McGeady away from Scotland and most Irish players, whatever club they play for, get dreadful racist abuse whenever they play against Rangers. Those who blame Neil for his own predicament are a disgrace to humanity.

Ulsterman I assume you equally condemn the Celtic fans who sing songs hoping the IRA shoot nacho novo in the head and then blame him for bringing it on himself???

Why particularly from Tyrone? Does he have some sort connection to Tyrone that I'm unaware of? From what I've heard and seen from him it is clear to me he is no Saint. When trouble finds him then he can't really complain. Bad you're wasting your breath trying to get this man to condemn anything the Celtic fans have done. He refused to condemn the Celtic fans who booed a minute's silence for an ex Rangers goalkeeper who passed away. We have vastly differing opinions on what constitutes a disgrace to humanity

Rangers and their thuggish, loutish fans are Scotland's Shame monkey and everyone knows it. How many were convicted for the Manchester riots? At the last count over 100 I believe and most with Scottish addresses too; so much for it being Chelsea fans as the Scottish media tried to tell us. Rangers; shaming around the world since 1873.

Talking of Rangers goalkeepers. Who was the Rangers goalie who was pictured in the Sunday World posing with Loyalist paramilitaries and who wore a black armband when Billy Wright died?? It is all on the record, go on PP and monkey tell the people.

It's very sad, as well as very hypocritical, that you will only condemn disgusting behaviour from one half of the divide. Always them, never us.

It was Andy Goram and I have the decency to say it was disgraceful he done that. You're too bitter to even condemn the Celtic fans who booed during a minutes silence for an ex Rangers player, it sums you up with your narrow minded hate filled views of all things Protestant

Again Pomeroy empty words, have asked you previously on the thread to show us exactly what Mr Lennon has supposedly done to bring all this trouble upon himself and you have failed to do so. As per usual I suppose you will ignore a post when it challenges your nonsense.
