I don't see a problem with wearing them but I wouldn't make tham cumpulsory. I wore them all the time playing Gaelic as I had the misfortune of breaking a leg at 16 (accidental kick on the shin) and I have to say a repeat of that episode was avoided on a few occasions but the same shin guards. People who don't/haven't worn shin guards at Gealic shouldn't knock the people who do or the idea as they do provide genuine protection against shin injury.

I have nothing a against people wearing shin guards if they want but making them mandtry would be a bit much. I dont see the need
