Enjoyed the show, obviously Paul Galvin is a huge talent and fantastic player that all counties would want in their team. I would say now that once gain he is setting himself up to be targetted gain in 2011 by both players and supporters alike. Not sure why he agreed to go on the programme, perhaps to give his side of the story and fair play if that`s the reason. Wouldn`t fault him on his dress sense as that`s an individual thing.. he does seem like a troubled young man though and didnt like the press intrusion on his parents who seem like lovely people.. As regards the Sunday Game Panel surely they have a right to voice their opinions as much as we do All Ireland medals or not some of us supporting teams that probably will never win an A I, but that doesnt stop us following them, so Paul Galvinis lucky to be born in Kerry and lucky to have so many medals that other players every bit as talented dont have or indeed wont have.. barroboys (Louth) - Posts: 101 - 31/12/2010 16:20:38 838411 Link 0 |

Very good footballer but not sure who he is trying to be , thinking he is some super star and brought alot of this to his own door step and was not the right role model for teaching . He also says to much media on him and he starts a show hmmmm ... Dellboypolecat (Tyrone) - Posts: 15069 - 01/01/2011 17:21:59 838648 Link 0 |

He loves the media attention, fact. 10 minutes of the documentary or his Late Late interview prove that beyond doubt. pundit2 (Louth) - Posts: 597 - 02/01/2011 10:52:34 838787 Link 0 |
He's an excellent footballer no doubt, don't really care what he chooses to do in his spare time, thats his own business.. But i couldn't help thinking that he is biased in his own perspective that he is being targeted by the GAA.. He's a top player and top players always receive "extra" attention by opposition players.. Thats a fact of the game.. The way he reacts to this attention is all his own decisions.. Putting your finger in someone's mouth or eye or whatever he was trying to do is stupid as he said himself.. The fact that he gets highlighted more than other players is because he has a record of lashing out, its not just a once off, he knows he gets targeted by other players so its up to himself to control his aggression and his emotions on the field like his fellow GAA players.. What I think needs to be looked into more is the flaws in the "CCCC." What I mean is that Kerry are a top team and get televised a lot, ok. That's why these incidents can be highlighted far easier as well.. There's an inbalance throughout the day's action, for example Kerry could be playing Cork and 3 players could get sighted for off the ball offences and then maybe Tyrone were playing Armagh in the same day, however let's say this game is not broadcasted, and there were also 3 incidents that would be deemed offences if seen again by the "Sunday Game" or the "CCCC," yet because the game was not televised or taped, the 3 players in the Tyrone/Armagh game could get away without suspensions and then the 3 players involved in the Kerry/Cork game might not be so lucky and get lengthy bans.. ( Kerry/Cork/Armagh/Tyrone were takin purely as examples, nothing intended incase some people think im having a dig at these teams) This has happened a lot in the last few years, Mickey Harte pointed it out long ago and perhaps it is this injustice why Galvin feels "targeted" by the GAA but I don't believe they intentionally pick out Galvin to make an example of him.. hurlingfan101 (Mayo) - Posts: 9 - 02/01/2011 11:11:52 838790 Link 0 |
everyone is going mad about his comments at the media and yet he is in a documentary, i think paul galvin is obviously refering to negative media, as in tabloid media, intruding in his life, the whole expose epsidode, his parents getting phone calls and being put on radio live, comments he never made being printed in papers, hes obviously refering to negative media, he enjoys positive media, as in the media that will help him persue his career which he hopes will be in fashion, some of you posters just dont think between the lines, and all the harsh criticism hes getting about his misdemeanors when not once did he say he was in the right, admitted he was wrong also, and another thing for good measure, hes not someboady to single out others for punishment, whilst he aknowledges he gets extra attention for his antics, he never pinpointed other incidents, whilst many an other person would have. recorded galvanised and just watched it yesterday, firstly, i think galvin has a great sense of style,i know some have passed comment on it, and not always good ones, he would not look out of place ruinning around up here, as for his football, there is no doubt that he is a great footballer, who will be a pain to any team most days he plays, but teams know this therefore i believe people are sent out to wind him up, from that point its up to him if he stays or goes, i dont blame him for reacting, but its a team sport and he is no good to the team on the bench, as for the media attention, well i would say he will end up being the 1st gaa celebrity so will need the media on his side which is probaly the point of galvanised. if im wrong im wrong. pig.ignorant (Derry) - Posts: 655 - 02/01/2011 19:43:43 838976 Link 0 |
