If Swad hadn't appealed Corduff would still have been stripped of the title. This way Ulster have a representative in the All Ireland Series.

I realise you are not the sharpest tool in the box Dell but how many times must you be told that before it sinks in?

the history of the GAA is littered with appeals and forfeitures and objections and awarding of matches on the grounds of some breach of rule or another.
there are 3 reasons for this.
1.) the rules are stupid and should never be implemented in the first place. blame the county reps for voting or abstaining.
2.) lack of knowledge of the rules by club officials. blame the club officials for incompetence.
3) Knowledge of the rules but a devil-may-care attidute by club officials..hoping they get away with breaking them..again club officials are to blame.

at no stage is it right or fair to blame a team for lodging an objection when their opponents have broken a rule. otherwise why not play without rules.

Swad did not break any rules and were beaten by a team that broke the rules and KNEW they were breaking the rules. they got away with it in the semi-final and chanced their arm again in flagrant disobedience of authority. as someone else said on here, regardless of whether swad lodged an objection or not corduff would have been rightly stripped of the provincial title. Swad did not want to win the game like that but it is riight and proper that they should be representing Ulster in the all-ireland . Corduff got what they deserve and I for one shall not weep for them.

just where on this island is ''swad''. also for a junior championship game to be taking up so much effort by so many (186 posts), is quite simply ludicrous

Why?? Can u back up your post? Why should it not be as important as a senior championship match? Just clubs with smaller packs fighting it out to win their level. It is the grass roots of football and can be a hell of a lot more exciting than intermediate or senior football.

Your post is incredibly snobby.

It is only right and proper for people to air their views re Jnr F/b game, I have no problem with that, but when you look at the bigger picture you see whats happening to o Senior Hurling team in Cavan you have to wonder just where these so called gaels be when there is a debate about a game that has been in existance for 5000 yrs on this island and for which the G A A was primarily set up in 1884, along with Rounders and Athletics. And which the Cavan G A A appeared to be trying to demolish altogether. Though at the moment there is a reprieve, but for how long?. If you think I'm wrong, ask Cavan Hurling people. They will tell you the true state of Hurling in Cavan. Thats an issue that should be uppermost in the minds of every true Gael in Cavan County.

Yes, Swanlinbar ,(I take it that ''Swad is Swanlinbar )were quite correct in objecting and good luck to them in the Jnr All Ireland series
