Steve That is what it is used for because it can be used for player getting hurt in training etc and the player is still a member of the club so the club has the right to claim insurance for him . And if he got hurt during a match he is still he is a member of the club so go and read the small print instead of preaching , gaa insurance is the only one he cant claim for after sixty days but club insurance can cover this because now go away and look it up before posting . Dell whilst i agree that the rule shouldn't be there, i must say that an insurance company would hardly pay out injury expenses to a player who was doing something illegal, be it club insurance, gaa insuranse or other type of insurance the companies would try to find any reason for not paying anything out. 77981301 (UK) - Posts: 79 - 18/12/2010 16:19:25 835019 Link 0 |

77981301 The reason i know this can happen as i was involved with the club that claimed this for the players operation and the club insurance company paid out , the only bad point was the fee went up this year but they did pay out on this case as there allowed under club insurance , normally they claim through the gaa but this player did not report this injury within sixty days and so they had to go the other way , that is what part of club insurance is for if needed but mostly for the public etc. Dellboypolecat (Tyrone) - Posts: 15069 - 18/12/2010 16:28:41 835030 Link 0 |
77981301 He was not illegal he is a club member so there covered under that reason. Dellboypolecat (Tyrone) - Posts: 15069 - 18/12/2010 16:33:37 835033 Link 0 |
I understand that he is a club member but he was illegal to play in the game he was playing in and im sure if the insurance company knew this then they would pay out. 77981301 (UK) - Posts: 79 - 18/12/2010 16:41:46 835039 Link 0 |
meant to say wouldn't pay out. 77981301 (UK) - Posts: 79 - 18/12/2010 16:44:18 835042 Link 0 |
77981301 Yeah illegal in the game however under the insurance with club they will only asked for bills he paid for treatment etc as he is still a member am only going by the case i went through last year , after the gaa insurance would not pay out because of the 60 rule but the club insurance company did . I believe you alright but insurance compaines will try to find any loophole to get out of paying and this could be one of them. 77981301 (UK) - Posts: 79 - 18/12/2010 16:58:35 835054 Link 0 |

I heard once that clubs can apply to Croke park for special relaxation of this rule under certain circumstances does anyone know whether this is possible or not? 77981301 (UK) - Posts: 79 - 18/12/2010 17:12:31 835070 Link 0 |
77981301 We tried that last year but did not work there very tough on the sixty day rule which i feel is unfair . Dellboypolecat (Tyrone) - Posts: 15069 - 18/12/2010 17:16:04 835073 Link 0 |

Swanlinbar played Corduff (Monaghan Junior Champions) in the Ulster Junior Final in Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday last and they came out on the wrong side of a score line of 2-07 0-8. In a game, which Swanlinbar never got going and never reached the heights, they did in previous games. It was the end of a beautiful journey, which started in spring and lasted to December and it took us into uncharted territory. Thanks to the Trainer John Joe Stewart, Selectors John Gilheany and Kevin Prior and to all the footballers of Swanlinbar GAA club. Have a well-earned rest and we will start fresh in 2011. ochonlir (Cavan) - Posts: 4343 - 18/12/2010 20:43:58 835186 Link 0 |
