Better selection than 'official' all stars. Still not convinced Keenan deserved one ahead of MD McAuley. Oh ya, Coopers ommission is a disgrace, perhaps some jealousy by his fellow players, either way don't think he'll lose too much sleep. the GPA teams of the year are a joke - they are both political (pro GPA players) and populist (pick the players people were giving about out who didn't make the all stars) at the same time moomoo (Kerry) - Posts: 4023 - 04/11/2010 19:28:25 809821 Link 0 |
I said after the farcical all star teams that the GPA awards are the real team of the year awards now. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 04/11/2010 19:37:07 809830 Link 0 |

Interesting to see that of the 8 All-Ireland quarter finalists, none produced a midfielder in the GPA team. Seems like the players recognised two great midfielders regardless of their respective teams' not progressing to the latter stages of the Championship. Paddy Keenan played five ch'ship matches this year and was man of the match in four of them, what else could he do to deserve an All-Star. PK57 (Louth) - Posts: 1664 - 04/11/2010 20:20:40 809873 Link 0 |

Gooch's ommision was predictable, he hardly ever gets picked on this team unless he's had an absolutely sensational year and is almost Footballer of the Year. Not surprising seeing as he's not in the GPA ans he is advertising Lucozade Sport which is the main rival drink to the GPA's Club Energise. moomoo (Kerry) - Posts: 4023 - 04/11/2010 21:32:03 809950 Link 0 |

Well Done to Emmet Bolton and John Doyle. Thought Peter Kelly might make it too. kefan (Kildare) - Posts: 498 - 04/11/2010 21:53:42 809981 Link 0 |
