hold on a second im very busy as a pt as u obviously dnt know much bout the buisness as most of the work comes from people trying to lose weight not sports people, now as for my attitude to sports people im a sports person myself so i dont get were ur saying my attitude to sports people haha makes no sense. u obviously have not attended many league of ireland matches or gaa matches because there is a massive gap in fitness between gaa players and league of ireland and league of ireland players are the first to admit this they do mostly ball training and short sprints as soccer is played at a far less intensity and speed u dont need to be as fit as gaa player as gaa is far higher intensity bigger pitch to player ratio and there physicaly better conditioned also.know to say because they work and dont have time to train or put in the effort haha u know damn all bout an inter county training scheduale so as they train 4 times a week two cardio/ball work sessions, 1 session on strength and conditioning{gym work} and 1 session in the pool on aqua fitness is that not enuf effort or time. now 1 thing u said is right yes the australian rules players were fitter i agree as they are the fitness equivalent of what the gaa would be if they went proffesional and trained every single day like they do.so compare the physical fitness of a professional soccer and aussie rules player and there is a massive speed strength and stamina differance in favour of the aussie rules players

hill16no1man,

I'm afraid my son you don't know what you are on about. You sound more like one of these personal trainers who popped up during the Celtic Tiger era to help yummy mummy pretend she was one of the desperate housewives!

The two sports you don't like are actually the two most popular sports in the world. Odd that.

shows what u know as im only qualified a year so ur way off the mark bud,as for ur comment bout socce rand cricket being the two most popular games thats because the brits invaded all those countrys and forced them to play them sports and know days there only popular for coz the media pumps them up to be the be all and end all.but heres a clear example of how much the media influences people like you if soccer is so popular tell me why nobody in ireland goes to league of ireland matches?il tell you why because the irish media dont promote it at all barely as shamrock rovers won the league last friday there was more people at bainisteoir final in parnell park and on the back of the sports papers the next day there headlines were about rooney on hols resting and a snippet on rovers thats exactly why u think the way u think ur like a sheep following them

I often laugh at soccer players being tripped and rolling around in agony

hill16no1man, I dont think your clients are getting value for money unless you are giving your services for free as it is quiet obvious that you do not understand the different aspects to fitness in sports.GAA players will have better upper body strenght I will give you that but even LOI players will have more stamina and speed ,For your information a soccer player will run a lot further than a GAA player in a game as a GAA player will be inactive for about 50% of a game in a close contest and the game is only 2 thirds in lenght ,plus a soccer player will play probably 3 or 4 times as many games as a GAA player .Start getting your facts right about sport before talking tripe on a forum.

It's 2010 (but obviously not where hill16no1man lives) and you are still going on about "brits invading countries"! It's obvious you only like gaa because it's not British. It's a sad existence you have hill16no1man. If it wasn't for the British a lot of those countries would still be in the dark ages, including Ireland. How long does it take a country to learn its own language? lol.

Stop wallowing in self pity hill16no1man and enjoy sport for all the right reasons.

a gaa match may last 70 mins and soccer 90 but a gaa pitch is bigger the game moves far quicker which means players are more often moving off the ball aswell as on the ball were as in soccer its a slow passing game which neccesitates in patience and build up to get a goal so the intensity and pace is far slower and i am only a club gaa player but i could outpace any eircom league player u name as u dont have to play soccer to be fast just look at the south african rugby player who raced a cheetah because he plays rugby u will probly say any soccer player is faster then him dream on pal,and my clients either get fit loose weight put on muscle and have fun thats what they come to me for and thats what they get

I play 3 sports, them being football, hurling and soccer. I was born and raised in London and have played soccer since 6/7. It was closer to ten when I started playing football and I only started playing hurling earlier this year a few months before my 18th. But football and hurling are better by far, they need more skill, physicality and fitness. They're faster, more exciting sports. The only reason, as said already, soccer is more popular is due to publicity and the money involved. I enjoy soccer and play it a lot but I cannot watch a game after watching/playing a football/hurling match. It just seems too slow and dull. A game of soccer can end 0-0 after 90 minutes, even then some fans say it was exciting. On the other hand, in football it's considered a bad game if there isn't a score about every 5 mins, and about 2/3 for hurling. Even the GAA is a better organisation. It's an amateur organisation but it's probably one of the most professionally run in the world.

i stated the point about brits invadin countries for a reason and it is that they forced the natives to play british games and in turn kids grew up playing those games and became popular in those countries and grew threw generations of british rule being forced upon them.as for britain taking ireland out of the dark ages if murdering torturing and stealing from innocent people is something to be proud of in your country it certainly is not in ours and ireland only came out of the dark ages when your ancestors were drove back across the irish sea.i can speak my native language pal thank you very much.as for your last comment about enjoying sport for the right reasons u cud not be more of a hypocrit as i enjoy gaa for the love of the game soccer players enjoy the amount of money they get paid for playing

no i didnt say every country now did i and clear example of why the media dictates peoples opinion if you think soccer is so much bigger and better then gaa why does nobody go to soccer in ireland because the media dont push irish soccer they push english and then everybody watches that instead its not soccer being better or bigger its media dictating

Well said Bernard. You (and indeed your family at large) represent all thats "Good" bout the GAA. The pride in the jersey, the passion, the spirit and pure and utter skill unlike the soccer players who get paid obseen amount of money for playing a game that requires very little skill, passion or otherwise!!! Gaelic games are our national sport and something we should all be proud to support , call me bias but theres nowhere compares to Croke Park on a summers day and ye would not get the atmosphere anywhere in the world.......they can have their soccar and their players.....no thanks...
