Dell, Colm did train the teams.played and beat, and played and lossed agin St.pats and he was always the man on the line and always the man who came into the dressing room. Played them as an u16 in the school and he was training the senior team at the time of our game. The year they won the all ireland with wardy on it O'Rourke was the main man. Rhodejim Am just going by what past and present pupils are telling me the man is overated , he took a club to a club final lead 9 points to 1 at halftime and lost 10 - 9 the calls he made that day made me cringe terrible decisions . Just to clarify the issue on Colm O'Rourke and St. Pats. Colm was always the main man in charge. Sometimes he handed over the training to one of the other teaches involved with the team but this was simply for a bit of variety so that training wouldn't become monotonous. And that's coming from a former St. Pats player. Maybe things have changed in recent years but I doubt it. men_of_49 (Meath) - Posts: 2015 - 08/11/2010 17:52:18 812210 Link 0 |
i cant believe the total lack of respect here shown to one of the gaa greatest players and a terrible nice person which is the great colm o rourke hipster (Dublin) - Posts: 2509 - 08/11/2010 18:05:26 812225 Link 0 |
The comment O'Rourke made at the foot of his independent column in relation to Sean Quinn really soured me on him to be honest. But that said when he sticks to talking about football I would have to say I would usually agree with him. The Meath clubs really need to get this sorted asap though. The players cannot be happy at all. doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 08/11/2010 18:18:04 812243 Link 0 |
I dont believe for one second that the players are demanding Banty be appointed. pundit2 (Louth) - Posts: 597 - 08/11/2010 19:34:20 812335 Link 0 |

I will try this in a nice way the club delagates may go against banty because with there fallen out with the county , the same way they voted out o brien to hit back at county board , and the last manager was treated unfair and should have got another year. It was a good few months ago. The comment has nothing to do with sport but for me that just begs the question why he felt the need to include it at the end of his column: doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 08/11/2010 21:21:16 812481 Link 0 |
