Are Irish people losing interest in a United Ireland??

its funny how the people who say they have NO interest in a united ireland or dont want a united ireland, are the ones who continually start and comment on the threads

798564 Anyone know where, when etc these polls are conducted ?

If i wanted to conduct a poll of this type and had an anti united Ireland belief i would conduct it outside Methodist churches on a Sunday morning. If i had leanings towards a united Ireland i would conduct it outside a dole office on a Wednesday afternoon or a pub on a Saturday night.

This one was probably done in the West !!

I have it from good authority slasher, that this poll was conducted by The Master, just outside Paddyogalls house, true bill that!

The same bar-stoolers who bleat about injustice are the ones who want to go against the wishes of approx. two thirds of the people in the North.

Now Pomeroy i've explained this to you before. In the last election 42% of the voters voted for Nationalist parties, i.e they would like to see re-unification. That would tend to suggest that your two thirds figure is more than a little a little off.

It's getting closer whether you like it or not.

brendtheredhand, so the people of the north shouldnt get a say in the decision? A little ironic dont you think? Maybe we should invade. To hell or to Tory

Interesting stuff on radio one today about how much money will be taken out of the public service in the north over the next few years. huge cut backs. Maybe people in the north who are interested in staying part of the UK because of money may now think again?? Looks like they will be no better inside it than out.

I heard an expert say about six months ago that the cuts that the ROI government made would also have to be applied in the UK and when they were that the economy would be in great danger of a double dip recession worse than the first. I hope he is not right but it is worrying. I am not an economist but I would have thought from purely economic reasons a 32 county economy would surely be better than a 26 county one and a very poor 6 county one. Surely there is strength in numbers even in the economy. We are duplicating services either side of the border. and have more politicians than we could poke a stick at. I look at the Irish rugby team and am impressed at what can be acchieved when we pull together.

Of course an all Ireland economy would be better. Its economic madness having 2 economies on an island this size. People bleat on about the norths public sector, truth is its just scaremongering spurred on by Tony O'Reillys media group. The Irish people would have to foot some of the bill, but it wouldnt be as bad as NAMA thats for sure.

I love the soldiers song but if we had to sacrifice an anthem for unity then I believe it would be worth it

Good man, a lot more might be interested in it if the ultra Nationalists adopted the same attitude.
