This thread is a credit to the Hogan Stand. Kinda what this whole place is about, a good-wind up and then evryone goes mad talkn rubbish. Ballboy, the undoubted king of forums the lenght and breath of the country! everyone else are merely pawns, especially Donegal people who as far as I can see don't have much of a sence of humour...or knowledge of anything football related...daa..I was wonderin how such a strong football county only have one All-Ireland...cue the crazy responces..point proven.

Finallly no I don't think anyone can live with Mayo in the qualifiers. Whiterbananas, whats your take on all this??

I think everyone knows my opinion on this one Ricky.

I think its a very clever ploy by JOM to use the qualifier route in order to gain an extra competitive game before the quarter finals. Where as the likes of galway, cork and wexford will be straight into a quarter final, they will have to face a side that has come through a tough qualifier the previous week, and this could prove their undoing. The teams coming out of the qualifiers will be battle-hardened and this could be a huge advantage. Also, by entering the qualifiers we have ensured we will not be facing kerry until at least the semi final stage. Very clever

I cant see any of the other qualifier teams stopping us. We have too much strength and power

Whitebananas how have you ensured you are not coming up against Kerry until at least the All Ireland Semis?? Saturday evening round 1 of qualifiers will leave 8 teams. Those 8 teams will be drawn against each other for round 2. Round 3 is 4 provincial losers against the 4 remaining qualifiers then the quarter final is an open draw. How have you avoided them until a semi?? You could have them in the quarters

whiterbannnas you talk about your manager wanting to lose a final as a clever ploy but if i got wind of coyle sending a meath team out to lose so that we could avoid teams then id throw my meath jersey out and give up
Any one who thinks that loseing is a good thing shouldnt support a team

Mayo are an average team at best and they wouldnt worry any other team in the qualifiers

I'd suggest Ricky that you know Scottish Football Association. How did ya come up with that? Last time I checked Mayo hadn't beaten Donegal in a good few years now. Another wind up no doubt. Donegal people have a great sense of homour. I'm surprised that you made that comment. A good few of the Mayo supporters that post here appear to be VERY easily amused. I'd suggest Mayo stick to being a tasty dressing on a nice sandwich/salad.

Chops - Are you sure the quarters are an open draw? It wasn't an open draw any other year. It was four provincial winners playing four qualifiers!

Chops we cannot meet kerry in the quarters (if we got that far...) as any qualifier team will be meeting the provincial champions at this stage in what i think will be an open draw. And i dont know whats worse some of the so called mayo fans posts or those of you who rise to the bait. Suppose tis somethin to be doin of a friday mornin..

Provincial winners will be drawn against last 4 qualifiers standing. Semis are pre-ordained - not sure what the make up this year is eg Ulster-Leinster, Connaught-Munster etc - anyone enlighten?

Youve hit the nail on the head Jayo - Ulster v Leinster, Munster v Connacht

if some or all prov winners are beaten at 1/4 final stage how does the pre ordained connacht v munster or whatever work out? could be two counties from same province in semis? or am i missing something ?

voice of reason. For example if the qf pairing is:
Armagh vs Meath (Ulster)
Dublin vs Derry (Leinster)
Cork vs Laois (Munster)
Galway vs Kerry (Connaught)
Whoever wins the match goes forward as that provinces repersentive as such (even if they aren't in that provence)
Better said, Winner game 1 vs winner game 2, winner game 3 vs winner game 4.
So Laois and Kerry could play in the Munster vs Connaught match

as i say i havent read a match report that hasnt said mayo despite a shaky start (immediately rectified) were truly excellent.
