1. Edwin Van Der Sar (good under a high ball)

2. Glen Johnson (Speed)
3. Christopher Samba (Take Man, Ball, and all)
4. Ashley Cole (Speed)

5. Francesc Fabregas (pace and ability to give good ball)
6. Michael Essien (no nonsense defender)
7. Paul Scholes (deliver good ball to full forward line)

8. Kenwyne Jones (Plenty of height in the middle, lads around to win break ball)
9. Steven Gerrard (Fantastic engine, gives everything)

10. Tim Cahill (can imagine him doing a Paul Galvin role)
11. Wayne Rooney (great boot on him, can score from all over)
12. Joe Cole (workhorse for the team, will turnover men around the middle)

13. Javier Hernandez (Nippy corner forward, able to skin men and take a score, goal-poacher)
14. Dider Drogba (Plenty of Strength, great touch, will bring men around him into the game)
15. Theo Walcott (Like Hernandez, has speed in abundance)

Surely Usain Bolt is faster than both of the above who you pick for speed?

statman.dave , I couldent agree more with you. Soccar players are pansies compared to Gaelic players. They would not have half the amount of skill, grit , talent (you name it) that our Gaelic players have. As for the sense of occasion, nothing compares to a big game in Croke Park or even a dark dreary day in the Winter at a league match...A soccar player would not know what hit him if he had to go out and play Gaelic football for 70 mins.. as for hurling.......where would I even begin....

I know he is not playing in the Premiership any more but I believe Xabi Alonso tried his hand at gaelic football when he spent a summer in Meath as a teenager learning English back in the day.

Well that's my pointless contribution to this thread done.

this thread should be closed and taken down what an insult to all our players who train twice a week and play one or 2 games and who get paid **** all for it and esp to compare them to these fools who play a discusting in england

Best thread since the All-Ireland's finished. The little bit of variety seems to have thrown quite a number of posters. Most of the teams named would, I reckon, take Kerry pretty handily. Dunno about the northern teams though!

To be fair lads, my team would keep every other team named scoreless, so I dunno why people are still wasting their time :)

Aaron Lennon would be a serious corner forward...

Breffni39 has the perfect team there, most of them would know what to expect, maybe Coleman CHF instead of Gibson, Coleman was a lethal GAA player back in the day.

To be fair a premiership team would probably win the all-ireland considering they would score a goal almost every time they get the ball.

I dont know why lads are saying the soccer fella's are soft, cos they wouldnt be!
Yes, they dive, but thats more down to play acting culture in soccer rather than softness.
Michael Essien/ Drogba/ Wayne Rooney/ Vidic meets you shoulder to shoulder you'd feckin know about it!
Ive no love for soccer but a few of you are deluded to think GAA players are any harder than their soccer counterparts.
