790621 Some people may prefer one code to the other, a bit like my releationship with jaffa cakes and figrolls, but contriving this hate thing is probably just an excuse to hate back.

But why compare cakes to biscuits????

Can"t really go into detail , Jaffa cakes seem to be a very sensitive issue on here, think the peace process might be at stake

790654 I hate this type of thread.
Do you REALLY hate it or do you just have strong dislike for it?

Small flaw in your arguement a football is bigger than a sliothar and easier to knock out of the hand... i do agree it's harder to win a tackle nowadays in football and gain posession but that mainly down to players not taking a ball into contact anymore or generally taking on players, generally players will handpass the ball before contact but that's just the way it's going tactics wise.

Also frees in hurling take more actions to strike the ball.... also to say free's are easier in hurling i don't agree with i think their are more scored free in a game of hurling as you can score from further out compared to football.

This was argueed a few months ago and a mayo poster stated that there were more wides in football thus it was easier to score... did a little bit of research on it looking at a few games and founs that the ratio and percentage of wides hurling was a little higer in hurling than in football

Also jim the lads that were good at hurling and football in expireance where also the best players on the rugby and soccer teams.....

Played hurling, football, basketball, bit of athletics, rugby, golf even tried volleyball at one stage to get out of classes and generally being good at sports I was decent at all of them..... My problem was a lack of commitment and a bit too fond of having a good time.... like many an ex-GAA player in the country who'll give the same story in pubs around the country, I could have been brilliant only for the drink, women and smokes!!
