Tyrone dominance and pride this decade

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Its great to have enthusiasm and maybe Tyrone people have a bit more of it than some others......

Maybe there are so many threads on Tyrone because there are a lot more Tyrone people than others on here....

And why wouldn't the senior match be an anticlimax for Tyrone people?

No not from Tyrone, hardly even been in the place. You'll find I'll defend any county getting unnecessary abuse from begrudgers. What way do you think i should behave? Should I login the day after a county has won an All-Ireland, find the threads where their countymen and women are showing their pride and enthusiasm for the victory and proceed to **** all over their parade? Is that the appropriate way to behave as a GAA fan?

No you shouldnt that would be rude!!! Let the other begrudgers to that. All I'm saying is no Tyrone man takes as great exception to it as you do. Ive seen lots of slagging off of Cork over the time but never seen a Breffni post weighing in with unbridled support for the rebels, quite the contrary.

2 u21 titles 2000 2001
2 national league titles 2002 2003 .
3 senior all ireland titles 2003 2005 2008
4 minor all ireland titles 2001 2004 2008 2010

There are eleven years in that decade TA32.

The word decade means ten, comes from the Latin....

Mind you, if you have only ever had one decade in the limelight I supopose you never want it to end............

I'm afraid the Cavan light is fading away badly, five candles that have virtually burnt out. The Tyrone light is three newly formed stars, burning so strong that it covers the whole of Ulster in the reassuring light of success. Feel free to sunbathe fella's

From Greek Deka(s) - not important really but if you are going to play the intellectual card at least be correct.

omar you are correct but so is patrique [Middle English, a group of ten, from Old French, from Late Latin decas, decad-, from Greek dekas, from deka, ten; see dek in Indo-European roots.]

On the topics of intellect & decades............

Cast your minds back a few years to say AD01 - the first year (there was no AD 00), the end of the first Anno Domini decade was AD10

Now, jump forward a couple of millennia.
Surely, by simple reason, 2001 was the first year of this decade, with 2010 being the end of the decade.
2011 is the start of a new decade.

Enough of this nonsense from people who can't count!
There's only two figures that matter from yesterday, the winning scores from Tyrone in minors & Cork in Seniors.

Congratulations to both All-Ireland winning counties.

AD actually stands for the Latin phrase "anno domini" which means "in the year of our Lord." 00 was the first 365 days of Jesus Christ's life on earth. The first day of AD 01 was his first birthday. Therefore AD 09 was the last year of the 1st decade and AD 10 was the second decade. So the ruling has continued ever since. Hence 2000 was the first year of the 00's and 2009 the last year of that decade. For those of you who get confused...........2010 is the first year of a new decade.
