Really feel sorry for the REAL fans who can't get tickets. I hope those who followed their team everywhere this year gets tickets.

775146 It is just wrong that supporters who have followed their team the length and breadth of the country all year cannot get to see their county playing in croke park in the final

-----

You mustnt attend too many yourself because if you did you would know about the season ticket which guarantees you a ticket up to the final and is great value if you go to all the games.
Most supporters who deserve and/or look hard enough for a ticket do get one by the time the match day arrives. They start changing hands the day or two before as people get a ticket and a spare one. People have to ask and know where to look, go to other counties, etc. It's a pity that kids who often have went to all the games sometimes cant go to the final though.

Its a great idea to make money! How on earth is it appauling?!? People may have to sell their ticket and ebay would gather the most profit! Tickets for soccer matches and concerts are sold on ebay so why not GAA?

Give it a break people, no harm being done!

REAL fans will get tickets if they are club members and try hard enough to get them! Stop complaining people! If you are loyal to your county then tickets shouldnt be too hard to get hold of!

Whoever deserves a ticket ends up getting one. If I had a ticket for the game on Sunday I'd have absolutely no qualms about putting it on ebay and making a tidy profit. Those who didn't get tickets for the final no doubt are those who decided at the quarter/semi final stage that they're actually die hard fans

I have no problem with someone making a small profit from a sale of a ticket i.e a tenner, but it takes me back to 2003 when a good few from my club never had a change of getting a ticket we were told that all the names would be balloted but the committee seamed t be flushed with tickets , the next day a committee member who also was an active player offered me a 20 quid hill ticket for 60 notes I ask how many did he have he said 3? I thought about it for all of 10 seconds and told him to stick them were the sun don't shine, got my ticket from a Derry Ref who asked for no payment he was away on work that date so it was extremely nice of him I owe him big time though but that not a problem . Good Luck to those who are in the hunt for tickets .

Not so sure that the adage that everyone who is involved with a club and/or attends the games will pick up a ticket is correct. It all depends on the size of the club and the demand from members in relation to the number of tickets received. Usually in Cork it comes down to the luck of the draw which is probably the fairest system available but it does mean that not every genuine member of the club will receive a ticket. My own club had our draw last night and I was not one of the fortunate recipients so I have been put on a waiting list. I have no problem with this, a draw is the fairest means of distributing tickets when demand exceeds supply.

It is a little galling to miss out at this stage when I have been to all seven of Cork's games this year (Kerry x 2, Cavan, Wexford, Limerick, Roscommon, Dublin) and five in the hurling (Tipperary, Limerick, Waterford x 2, Kilkenny) so twelve games in total but I am aware that this is the system that operates. Not every deserving case will receive a ticket and at this time of the year a lot of it comes down to personal contacts in business and non-GAA matters. It is the same this year as it is every year so there is no point moaning about it. I will explore other options and travel up on the day anyway and pound the streets if i have to.

The season ticket idea is a novel idea for future reference but I was out of the country over the winter so would not have been in a position to have attended National League fixtures to benefit from it. Maybe next year.

775146 It is just wrong that supporters who have followed their team the length and breadth of the country all year cannot get to see their county playing in croke park in the final, I believe the county boards should implement a policy where supporters should be given receipts or ticket stubs at the turnstiles of league matches and earlier rounds of the championship, if your county reaches the all Ireland final then those supporters who have attended the most matches and have the receipts to prove it should be entitled to purchase a ticket for the final from their county board.

If you buy the GAA season ticket and attend 60% of the games throughout the season you are guaranteed a ticket for the final:
http://www.gaa.ie/tickets-and-merchandise/tickets/gaa-season-ticket/qualifying-for-all-ireland-tickets/

€75(€10 for juveniles) for all the league matches plus your opening championship match and your guaranteed tickets from there on as you progress at normal prices. Not bad.

Thanks doublehop, I didn't know the season ticket worked like that in regards to getting tickets for the final, looks like great value.

I don't have a ticket for this year's All-Ireland or I'd be going myself. Any time I've had spare tickets I've sold it to friends for face value or given it to family members. But if no-one I know wanted a ticket I'd sell it on ebay

this happens cos of the greedy GAA they only give tickets out to the counties thats playing and thats right but then give some to other clubs around the country who then cant be bothered to go and see it as a money making racket i for one a a huge dubs fan would never pay over the odds for a ticket even if they got to a final

I was of the understanding that selling a ticket for more than face value is called ticket-touting. What's the difference between someone standing outside the stadium and selling a ticket for an exorbitant price and selling it on the internet? There has to be a certain amount of responsibility laid at the door of the internet site involved. Saying its like selling a tv is ridiculous. AI final tickets are of a finite amount and there is massive demand. There are tv's galore on sale, either on the internet or in the shops, so that's not a good comparison.

Dungael, are you really disgusted at the selling of tickets on Ebay, or is it just that this particular seller is from Armagh ? Considering Downs traditional hatred of Armagh, are you allowing this to cloud your judgement ?

Torgael, dont let the fact that this seller is from Armagh get in the way of things here, i merely pointed that out in my original post.I am respectful of all of the Gaels throughout the whole country from Armagh to Cork. I just think that the selling of tickets on ebay for more than face value is glorified ticket touting and should not be allowed.
I agree there is fierce rivalry between Down and Armagh but I trust that all of Armagh will want Down to win on Sunday and bring Sam Maguire back North again...
Keep the faith. ..
