All Ireland tickets on Ebay

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I find it disgusting that All Ireland tickets are currently being sold on ebay for nearly 4 times their face value. One set of tickets on sale for £550 and the seller is from Armagh. Surley the GAA should make it a priority to stop these people from getting tickets in the future to prevent this happening. I know how sick to the bone people from my county feel about this happening, true gaels who are lucky enough to get tickets should not seek finacial gain from selling them. What does anyone else think ?

Any person who attended the quarter final and semi should get a ticket. Suppose these lads see the final as a way of providing an unofficial wage

These lads put a lot of time into the GAA. A lot of people moaning regarding the tickets will have been nowhere near a match until the final

I think its capitalism at its very worst. When Tyrone were in AI finals over the last few years I used to feel really upset that these people were taking advantage in the worst possible way of fans desperation for tickets.

However this person may have bought a premium seat on the back of Armagh's win in 2002 and is simply just trying to take the sting off the initial investment. I know how you feel though, its hard to stomach when you're bursting yourself trying to get sorted out.

Best wishes for Sunday.

Well blackmarket tickets should be easily traced especially if they went to a county board..Fine the County board... The prawn swandwich brigade tickets might be harder to trace..Thet tend to do the rounds more...But all tickets should be accounted for before initial distribution and the culprits or County banned of fined for selling over the top..

The GAA could go down the route of forcing clubs to put names on each of their allocated tickets, and then forcing patrons to carry ID to games, but that would be a real ball-ache.
For example, most people going to the match will have had to source their tickets from somewhere other than their own club or even county, so it wouldnt work.

One solution* would be to get his/her e-bay details, arrange for to pick them up, and then beat the b'Jeesus out of them.
*I do not condone violence.

Its a disgrace the way tickets are distributed. I have been lucky enough to pick up 2 tickets and i deserve them cause i go to both hurling and football games. Not only Cork games and i also play GAA but i know that my club in Cork only got 28 tickets with over 100 looking for them. However some of those looking aint been to a game all year. I dont think they deserve tickets. For some reason their is a serious shortage in Cork. I think allot of counties who got tickets aint giving them back. In my opinion Cork and Down should recieve 30,000 tickets each. As for fellas selling them on Ebay its just a disgrace.

Benny Tierney highlighted a website selling tickets from 330 euro and more to warn folk about it in the Irish News.

Its disgraceful, but it can't be to hard to find the sellers and take appropriate action!!

If someone forks out money for a ticket they own it and can do whatever they want with it, be that using it themselves or selling it on. I see no problem whatsoever, it's the individual's property and is no different to selling a TV on ebay

It is just wrong that supporters who have followed their team the length and breadth of the country all year cannot get to see their county playing in croke park in the final, I believe the county boards should implement a policy where supporters should be given receipts or ticket stubs at the turnstiles of league matches and earlier rounds of the championship, if your county reaches the all Ireland final then those supporters who have attended the most matches and have the receipts to prove it should be entitled to purchase a ticket for the final from their county board.

Agreed.

Also no demand, no supply.

Most people who are properly involved with their clubs will get tickets for All-Ireland if they want them.

If you buy the GAA season ticket and attend 60% of the games throughout the season you are guaranteed a ticket for the final:
http://www.gaa.ie/tickets-and-merchandise/tickets/gaa-season-ticket/qualifying-for-all-ireland-tickets/

€75(€10 for juveniles) for all the league matches plus your opening championship match and your guaranteed tickets from there on as you progress at normal prices. Not bad.

Was given a ticket for this game on Sunday - could anyone explain to me what the rules are?
It's more or less a cross between soccer and rugby, yes?

Have heard there are usually animals involved in the final, but not this year - that sounds like it would be fun.
Never mind, I'm sure it will still be enjoyable.

It's a joke but just make an account up on E-bay & bid til your hearts content on it. When the bidding is done refuse to pay ha ha ha ha that'll sicken them cause they'll have to repost the item. As for it's their's they can do what they want with don't be silly it belongs to all of us as we are all part of the GAA

For all we know that seller from armagh could be a widower with 5 children and had just lost his job when he put that up on e-bay for sale. We on HS are such a judgemental bunch and this is something that needs to be addressed. Im surprised mods allowed this Disgusting thread to be started. The man has no job and 5 children for gods sake!!!!!!!

Wrong, you are only renting the seat of Croke Park. And its clearly stipulated in the terms and conditions which are readilly available to read before parting with money!!
