Patrique. I actually agree with you, however, big Ian is not protesting for those reasons. He is peotesting because he is a sectairian biggot!!

The trip costs millions when we are making public sector cuts. So instead of having a hospital or a school we have the pope

Patrique the Pope's trip is expected to cost in and around the region of £12 million, the vatican are apparently covering over £10 million of this expense themselves so your point is not entirely valid.

Furthermore given that catholics have been discriminated against in the United Kingdom for a couple of hundred years I think the gesture of incurring the rest of the expense for inviting the Pope over is worth making.

Would you not agree?

Now that I would pay to see, especially if you were wearing a Limerick GAA top it would be a Robert Mugabe moment I think.

The Catholics of England Scotland and wales are raising the money for this trip. Perhaps they should raise money so the Public service can remain in its priviliged position also.

What is actually so priviliged about the public service? Give all to the private sector, after all they are the ones who make the world go round!!

hit the nail on the head there wise_guy. even if there was no scandals in the church he would be out protesting. however the pope deserves all he gets. even pope john paul 2 has been shown to cover up abuse of children. disgrace the whole lot of them.

Privileges compared to the Catholic church.

Do they have pensions of £3,800 a year after 40 years service?

Civil servants can't afford to visit England, by and large, as most of them are receiving STATE BENEFITS to make ends meet.

daft isn't it.
