Tipp U21 Hurling Champions

As you've mentioned Keady again and rules I'll add this final point. When it comes to rules they should be applied equally and to everyone or not at all.

Cheap shots? ThurlesBlues is out of this world so I didn't mean him at all. I was referring to the likes of Fergo.

Tipp poster that Galway were past it by 1989 - Fergo again with this classic - 'It's time ye got over the fact that the Galway team of the 80s were well past their prime by the time Tipp returned to the top. That great tipp team were simply on another hurling stratosphere.'

He a journalist for the connaught tribune that's his job and in fairness much of his criticsm was accurate. His criticism of Cyril Farrell in particular was way off the mark, and it got to the point where McIntyre's articles in the Connacht Tribune were becoming ridiculous. Whatever about his talents as a journalist, his merits as a manager should be judged whenever his time is up.

Good point about the length of time our managers have been given.

I was actually at the Roscrea final, against St Rynagh's, loved Francis Loughnane in those days. And Kieran Carey, aged 95 or so.

However until this day I did NOT know that Thurles sarsfields had changed their name to Roscrea, then Kilruane, then Borrisoleigh, maybe then Moycarkey Borris (beaten by Loughiel in the semi) and then back to Thurles Sarsfields.

Ye have had more names than the Workers' Party it seems.

I think we'll agree to differ on a few points.... I'm not even a galway man and galway hurling frustrates me.... My point is that sometimes the blame can be misguided and really much of the problems are internal issue within galway!!

The galway team of the late 80's were one of my favourite teams I've seen playing.... good hard hurling and skill to match it, it was even better when tipp beat them with another great team many galway person would say that it wasn't deserved but no=-one can disagree they were a good team.

Galway have success under age for many years not and just can't convert it into senior success... hurling needs galway to get their act together.

just because I showed you up for the last 3 months over your lack of knowledge of Tipp hurling and your lack of belief in Tipp winning another handy all ireland against Kilkenny proves to me that you are the one who is not from Tipp hags because if you were you would know your stuff when it comes to Tipp v Kilkenny finals!

another handy all ireland for the Tipp men a training session in semple would be harder Id say we are looking at a team as good if not better than the greatest team of all time in hurling that is the Tipp team of the 60s!!

Well boss at that time I was just after walking out of semple stadium after watch the presentation yet you managed to get the whole way back to Limerick where you claim to live!!! In your case attack is not the best form of defence the game is up !!

Indeed, as for our hurlers, imagine what it is like following them.

That Tipp team of the same era had some class players - the likes of John Kennedy and Pat Fox in particular. The current team played some great stuff this year and last. Pity ye're future looks brighter than ours!

Aye Bobby ryan, cormac "the viking" bonner and paul delaney were my favourite players around then (also had time for lnysky and micheal coleman for galway) hard to pick a weak link 1-15 on either team..... lot of family member on that tipp team ryan brothers and 3 bonner brothers think there was a few brother on the galway team aswell??.... that tipp team peaked around late 89 to 91 think the galway team peaked around 87-88.

Hag and Chese, just a point of clarifacation, last years A.I. U.21 final was played in Croke Park on Camogie Day, when Clare beat Kilkenny.

I stand correct hands up!!

In my defense I think the semi between clare and galway in thurles was the stand out game in the latter stages of the championship hence why it clouded my memory as a final.

Well done sam02 strange that no-one else corrected it earlier.... I'm disappointed in ye lads ;)
