Ye, it's a strong side. It's not the strongest side they could put out but remember these boys only get 8 weeks of an off season and after you've toured Ireland once the novelty wears out. So the older players with wives and kids would rather spent their holidays on Bondi then in Cork!! But the younger lads love it though.

796636 Delighted to see Paddy on the team, first ever Louth player to make the team. Overall it looks like a strong team, a lot of big men, everybody will have players they reckon should be on the team but at the end of the day they have to narrow it down and i think Tohill has picked a good team.

796637 One thing sticks out straight away.

None of Kerrys 2010 squad.

Looks like the stand-off between Tohill & Kerry for media opinions earlier in the summer had some substance.

Have not heard of any of the Kerry squad of 2010 being asked. Anyway Kerry is represented with Tadgh and Tommy; the Kerry squad of 2009.

Its a good enough mix; would have liked to see John Galvin there too but heard he is injured. Glynn is excellent too.....all in all, a good mix of impressive players.....

Donaghy and Declan O'Sullivan trained with them but could not commit apparently. Tohill is the first IRS manager not to pick a player from his own county.

What about the O'Se brothers and Galvin Kerrykerry? Really hoped those guys would get involved and show a bit of mettle when the heat's really on. One can only assume they announced themselves as unavailable , unless they are carrying injuries.

All I can say is good luck to all the lads involved regradless of what county they're from.

But most importantly, here's hoping none of them get themselves injured.

Why no sign of Aidan Walsh from Cork, surely going to be young player of the year! The way he fielded kick outs in the All Ireland would justify his inclusion alone.

No Paul Galvin? I thought the hard man would love to chance his "arm" against the Ozzies.

I presume his Expose show demands his full attention.

Well Done to James Kavanagh!! It's great for Kildare to be represented on it! Hopefully Emmet Bolton will get a chance to play too!

Best of Luck to all the lads involved. It won't matter what county they're from they'll have our full support!

As someone else said hopefully nobody will get injured!

Looking forward to 2 good matches. Come on Ireland!

Yeah Kavanagh is a big strong lad, though he doesn't look it on tv. .

Surprised Donaghy's not there - he was immense in 2008. One lad I'd have loved to see involved is Jamie O'Reilly. He's at Richmond Tigers and is progressing seriously fast.

This is starting to veer into one of those "Why isn't [insert name of favourite player here] involved?" posts so I'll stop there.......

......except to say he should've looked at Cussen.

Roger, you are right, I forgot about Donaghy and Declan. Kieran is playing the Club championship final this weekend and Declan was playing with his club until last week when they were knocked out at the semi final.

In relation to Paul and the O Se and some of the other Kerry players=who knows if they were asked. From what I heard is that there wasn't any request. Unless Tohill or the individual Kerry players say otherwise-all is just speculation.

Anyway Go on Ireland-I am looking forward to it. Club championship this weekend, then Limerick, then Dublin, then Hallo'ween..............roll on.........
