that's a preliminary panel paddywack. as stated the Cork lads have to come in and there are many others who trained in Limerick. Anyway it will eventually be whittled down to 23... how about you give us some names you'd have in there?

As for the betting i can't find odds anywhere, maybe somebody else can? With the Aussies preperation limited due to the grand final replay I'd strongly fancy irelands chances meself

What kinda crowd will there be in Limerick? Not a city noted for its GAA enthusiasts. And surrounded by hurling counties. Cant see anyone travelling more than 50 miles to go to this, and Kerry men hardly travel to see Kerry, not to mind Ireland......Could be a terrible crowd.

remember what happened when the FAI brought the internationals to the "City of Sport"

I hope the gaels show up or is the city full of Munster by the Grace of God merchants?

I know it's only a preliminary panel but alarm bells are ringing already man. Even look at the Tyrone names. Enda McGinley? Sure the man barely played two mins for Tyrone this season. Dermot Carlin has lots of pace but not the size to take on the aussies. Same can be said for serveral others. What about Dick Clerkin, Bernard Brogan, Kalum King, Charlie Harrison, JP Rooney? John Galvin is another I would like to see on the team. And I would love to see Paul Galvin there also. He is too good a player to leave out regardless of what he may think of Tohill.

Down - Marty Clarke, Kevin McKernan, Benny Coulter
Cork - Michael Shields
Dublin - M D MacAuley, Eamon Fennell, Steven Cluxton

Carlow - Brendan Murphy
Brisbane Lions - Pierce Hanley
Monaghan - Paul Finlay
Louth - Paddy Keenan
Galway - Finian Hanley
Meath - Kevin Reilly

Aussie Rules is a load of rubbish, should have been finished for good. Why would any manager want to risk any of (but in particular) their better players for that series. I wish to God there were NO dublin players on the damn thing. As you'll gather, Im not a fan at all. Not a patch on our games and only puttn our players at risk.

I like the international rules but if this year is in any way a repeat of what we seen in 2008 in Australia then it should be discontinued. After what happened in Croker in 2006 we whinged about the Aussies being too rough and so when the series came round in 2008 it was as though the aussies were frightened to touch us and so it became a Gaelic football match with one or two exceptions. I am not saying that all out brawls is what we want to see but the physical side of things was lowered considerably in '08.

In no proper sport in the world is it permissable for a player to strike an opponent, this happened in 2006 and there was no action taken and no sanctions. Aussie rules players at home were critical of the cowardly antics of their own players. Physical is OK but punching and mauling off the ball isn't. So if the game is played like most other sports in good spirit, ie sportingly, then it's a great game.
Unless you saw a different game people were correct to complain that the aussie players overstepped the mark, something that they don't do in their own game. Whinging is when there is no substance to an argument!
