A load of rubbish, the game is a "has-been", dead in the water....just get rid of it for once and for all. Quite apparent the even our players have no interest in it or no great motivation about playn it. Bring on the League or I'll even settle for the O'Byrne Cup!!!!! anything beats that Int. Rules.....no place in Irish Sport....

Our guys are amateurs and we finished two scores away from winning another series

despite unbelieveable stupidity kicking away the ball and trying to go on solo runs in crowded areas we could have won

with a bit of tweaking we will win the away tests nest time but our management team are poor in my view as the team didn't seem switched on and the Kick outs????

i dont think the "amateur" tag is any excuse when we lose, its not an issue, we finished the 1st test the stronger and came strong in the 2nd test. but i do agree we were poorly coached, bring back colm o rourke for the next series IMO.

I thinks its really no more than a novelty at the end of the year for the players, so if they want to keep it going then let them have it but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest left in the series.

My verdict: a slow and painful death to a very bland series.

was at the game sat night - it was pure rubbish and I definately wouldnt bother going to watch it again. the Irish set up was summed up for me when we started the 2nd Qtr with 16 players - total disorganisation. There was a better game with a better atmosphere in Parnell Pack the Friday night for the celeb bain final.

I was in croke park on saturday night and one thing i came away thinking after was that stephen cluxtons distribution of the ball
was woeful, another thing of note was every time we got a mark near the australia goal we stopped dead every time and took a free
where australia would turn quickly and shoot

I ceen in the paper today that tehre was only 10 subs allowed to take place in teh rules, this is maybe why a a few of the players didnt see much time, a joke? What about Michael Murphy who scored 2 great points he should heave seen more time there were probably players cluxton included who played the whole 160 minutes.

i dont get some of cluxton criticism i think ye are using him as a scapegoat yes he didnt find his men as he usualy does but in all fairness who had he to aim at kennelly called for balls and stood still and let aussies field over his head, the same with tommy walsh he was poor around midfield he should be played in full forward were he could do damage with brogan and coulter,as for kennelly i cant amke out why he was on the team hes poor imo i was down in limerick for the first test and i counted 5 times brogan had his arms outstretched calling for a pass and kennelly wouldnt give him the ball,he then persisted in trying to tell other players what to do,if kerry take him back they be mad as they have far better players.have to say was very impressed with the carlow guy in midfield had a great game also mckiernan of down was best irish player in croker without a doubt

We were lacking in some of the basic skills, the tackle in particular,we can't seem to grasp how to do it properly

Paddy Keenan (Ireland no.12 PettystownRoyal) was the only player to tackle the man properly in both test games, that was, around the waist and take him to ground.

oh number 12 was paddy? that surprises me after all I've been hearing you lot going on about how great he is. any neutral would agree he was seriously found wanting. i really expected more from the countries number 1 midfielder. and take off then tinted glasses of yours he was far from the only one to tackle and far from the best at tackling.

I have to admit I'm very disappointed by some of the attitudes of certain posters on this thread...

You remind of English soccer fans... their country fails to win against a superior opponent and instead of baring the brunt and accepting the faults of the team…

They have to point the finger at one player and blame all their woes on that specific person....

I thought as GAA people we'd be slightly better than that... I guess not!

i am not blaming there loss on 1 irish player quite simply the aussies tackled 100percent better, there team play was about 70percent better and there fitness and brain was far quicker then irelands but they should learn from it and for the next series change there reasons for selecting players, there has to be a better mix of speed physical and talented players and as 1 poster already stated the tackle is the single biggest advantage the aussies have as ireland tend to stand off and block if you are aloud haul somebody to the ground and u get a free for doing this then why not use it.have to say that chap goodes was outstanding physical skillfull and not selfish and was faster then any of the irish backs for a man his size.gilroy shud pick up the fone haha

What a surprise, Pettystown Royal takes yet another swipe at Paddy Keenan. Getting a bit boring now...

GPA team, All Star, Sunday Game team of the year, International Rules player . What do any of them know?
Bettystown rathers not give him any credit because he dislikes Louth. Your fooling nobody.

Paddy wasnt great in the International rules, but he was an interchange player which meant over two tests he probably got 20-30 minutes game time in all.
He had a go at the tackling but hadnt much of a clue about like the majority of his teammates.
His first experience of I R , difficult to get into a game when your in & out so often.
I wouldnt say he was 'found wanting' as you say, he didnt shine as he does so often as a Gaelic Footballer which is essentially what he is.

and pundit i agree with most of your comment but i was on the hill and couldn't tell who number 12 was so no bias against louth. i was shouting like a madthing after some of the mistakes he along with 1 or 2 others made.

Petty

Good lad. Do you really think people on here are that slow?
The one player who you seem to have a major gripe with for some reason for the last few months, just happened to be the 'no 12' who you didnt recognise?
Do us a favour and admit as the other poster said that you dont like Louth and are sick to see us have good players who get recognition.
By the way if Meath had a player as good as Paddy Keenan they'd have won Leinster un-aided by Sludden & would not have surrendered so meekly to Klidare.
Hed have won an All Star without doubt.
