A round ball with a point at one end would achieve compromise, but maybe not the consensus, dhorse. Could improve the accuracy of the Aussie goalkicking though.

@liathroid boy or should that more appropriately translate as "balls-less boy". Let's leave all your negativity at home in Mayo. Please don't be infecting the rest of the country with 'your failure mentality'. We all know that exists in Mayo. Please confine it to Mayo. Any Mayo man in the squad? I think you've answered for all of Mayo, why there isn't even one near it.

The only thing GAA has really compromised on is the ball, and when you think of it that isn't that big a deal, kids get balls from the age they can crawl, so everyone has some experience in kicking a round ball (here and in Australia). More or less everything else is aussie rules, tackle, scoring, marks, inter change, soloing, picking ball from the ground, duration of game, playing advantage. The game is heavily geared to suiting the aussies, so its no wonder really that the can beat us in international rules. If there was a game where the first half was pure aussie rules and the second half pure football, i reckon the Irish would win

Go to Durty Nelly's, its a nice spot with a pool table, dart board, nice pints and they have the interweb. I watched last years leinster final there and the best part about it is that its only 1 street over from the red light so if you get bored at half time you know what to do ;-)

Looking forward to this now! Glad Emmet Bolton has made the squad for Saturday's game. It's great to have 2 Kildare lads on it.
As for the comment about James Kavanagh a few pages back no he's not originally from Wicklow. Don't be trying to claim him Wicklowman ha

Any word on how many tickets are sold for Croke Park? hopefully there'll be a good crowd at it!

The Aussies are complaining that the pitch in Limerick has been marked at 130 metres.

Them Irish, always "playing funny buggers".

Looking forward to these tests, might take a run down to croker. Think Tohil has to be commended for his team selection, very unbiased selection and a stprng looking panel. I think Murphy from Carlow could be the surprise package. I hear also that Begley is really showing his class in training.

There showing deferred coverage at 10am rather than live at 4am. It makes sense.
