Does anyone know of an Irish bar in Amsterdam that is likely to show the International Rules match this weekend? Theres a fair few in the city and I have this recurring nightmare of the time I was running around Madrid with tears in my eyes cause not one Irish pub was showing the 2009 AI final.

Australian Manager: "We know we have an obligation to make sure the game is played in a spirit that ensures this competition goes beyond this year,"

sure thats all anyone watches it for! the game is even more boring and slow than gaelic football when the rows were clamped down on..il watch it out of habit, praying that somehow barry hall and paul galvin could end up marking each other..now that would be worth the admission price :)

O'Reillys just off Dam Square. Ask any of the locals, they'll know where it is. Got to see the 2000 All Ireland Football Finals there so I am sure the International Rules shouldn't be a problem.

Just a question on the actual ball used, is it the O Neills or a different type of ball?

It always looks like a lighter type ball when I watched it previously & never is branded O Neills

I think it should just be a one off match in Croke Park. Every year Australia are in town, they should should play one of the Provinces, i.e. Munster this season and Leinster in 2 years time, Ulster in 4 years time and Connaught in 6 years time. Have a similar arrangement then for Ireland's tour of Australia.

Con Cavan surely your life is not that sad that you would be running around Amsterdam with tears in your eyes because you could not see the International Rules, All Ireland Final maybe, but the International Rules?

Are the matches being shown on Eurosport i cant find it on listing but according to HS

''In addition, Eurosport (main channel) will cover LIVE the 2010 Irish Daily Mail International Rules first test in Limerick on October 23. The match will be available in 57 countries (excluding Great Britain) and in more than 110 million homes on a pan European basis. ''

Of course people will see it in these countries but only ex-pats will watch it...Is this game being staged to target amercians in mind, no, is it being staged with india in mind, no,is it being staged with china in mind, no....this game is only targeted towards Irish and Australians, hardly opening up new fronteirs is it!!!!! ive tried to explain this as simple as possible, i look forward to your response!!!!!

So all the people who go to all the Irish bars and pubs across the world are Irish? And when you think that many of those bars and pubs will be showing the game, will all the different nationalities turn their back on it and not be the slightest bit interested? Even if 10,000 people who aren't Irish or Australian see it, it raises the profile of the GAA and gets people interested in our game. I was in Chicago last summer when the All Ireland Football Final was on and I watched it in a bar and there were a tonne of Americans there and they were watching it. Again, it increases the profile of our game, which is a good thing. Anyway looks like people from all over Europe can watch it as it will be on Eurosport.
