Dstruction
If you were to read my previous posts, the players that I would pick for midfield would be Paddy Keenan (Louth) and John Galvin (Limerick). As for Aidan Walsh, as a 19 year old in his debut season, he has been absolutely outstanding. He is not a complete player yet as there are many aspects of his game that he needs to work on. His fielding and workrate, however, are top notch. As good as any other player in Ireland this year. As he has made some mistakes, possibly due to his inexperience, he won't, as he doesn't deserve to, get an all-star this year.
Cork do not have any stand-out players, as in there are no Bernard Brogans, Gooch, Paul Galvins, etc. What does that mean though? Does it mean they are 15 average "athletes" (as you called them) that can't play football at all? If you feel, in your opinion, that the answer to that question is yes, can I ask a further question. Given we have used 10 players in this year's championship with All-Ireland U21 medals, 13 players with Sigerson Cup medals, we have won two league titles in a row (Division 2 last year which included counties like Monaghan, Kildare, Meath and Armagh and Division 1 this year) and qualified for two All-Ireland finals on the trot, what does that say for the game of football in general? Some of these young "athletes" have enjoyed quite a bit of success for their seemingly lack of ability to play football.
I don't really care anyway, IF (and it is a big IF) we beat Down on Sunday week, we will be All-Ireland champions. If the general opinion is that we won a poor championship, that we are an average team that have won an average championship, if we are the least worst of a bad lot, if people complain that we handpass too much (the same people that complain about other tactics are the only ones that do this anyway); all is irrelevant. Being All-Ireland champions is all that matters and after a 20 year wait, that is enough for me.

Sorry only had read your last comment but thats what I mean. If you were picking your best 15 players for ireland this year wouldn't you pick the stand out performers? I know that bar kerrigan, kissane and kelly I wouldnt pick the rest of cork players. The rest of the cork team have been great but there are better between the other 500 players or so featuring in this years championship I feel I could find better people even from the lower counties who only have 1 exceptional player.
Actually just wondering what you think of playing kerrigan in the corner? He is much more influencial out the field where he can run at defences with his pace. CC has played him there for numerous games this year.
Again Id like to state that these are only my opinions so dont throw stats at me. I know how successful other counties have been and will be but I just call it as I see it - good or bad
