Well firstly, one would have to clarify what is meant by fastest. There are a couple of possibilities:
1) Fast over a considerable distance - say 40+ metres
2) Fastest over a short distance. In this case two attributes must be considered;
* the acceleration of the player, &
* the ability of the player to read the game. A player that can read the game very well could easily win every ball over an opponent with superior
acceleration.

anyway I wouldn't even hazard a guess at who is the fastest in the land.

Liam O'Lionáin as Contae Phort Láirge. Serious speed, got a massive goal in the league final against Limerick. Ijury prone however.

I was in college with a few of the names mentioned, and played against another one or 2. But Liam O Lionán from Waterford is the fastest/quickest ive ever seen. When he was in UCC he ran 100metres in 11secs flat. A few injuries since, but still lightening quick. No contest between him, Paddy Kelly, Paul Kerrigan, Darren O Sullivan, etc.

I think James Loughrey of Antrim is the only athletic star sprinter playing Gaelic football at the moment.
