It could not be seen as a neutral or fair venue for an All Ireland final. If Kerry were in the AI U21 football final and the venue was given as Fitzgearld Statium in Killarney, it would be worth a good few points-I can't see how its any difference for hurling.

There are enough neutral venues in Ireland, never mind Croke Park (which should really host a match of this significance)----Tipp supporters, how can you defend the use of Semple Stadium-you know it gives you an advantage. You should want to win fair and square like ye did last Sunday. Its also unbelievable that the U21 final is 6 days after the AI final.........another unfair decison. Again, the GAA has the supporters argueing at each other, when the finger should be pointed at Cooney and his cronies for not listening to the people that matter. Its sad to see that only 240 tickets have been bought in Galway for this final.....very sad.

I haven't bought a ticket, but I'm heading off for Thurles in about an hour, so there'll be at least 242 there!

I am travelling in protest, as even though I am seriously p****d off about the venue, our lads deserve my support, and that of every Galwayman, even if as expected, we get beaten by +5. There will be very very few wegians there though, but I'll make myself heard! Gaillimh Abú!

It is a joke it's in Thurles. I know know it's the secondary stadium and all, but for Galway v Tipp this game should be in Limerick. But then, when do the corporates ever listen to the people that matter, something serious needs to happen to put these people in their place.

That was good!

Some said this venue was not fair because the Tipp team train in Semple Stadium.. Some of their training sessions were better and tougher than this I reckon!

another handy all ireland for the Tipp men a training session in semple would be harder Id say we are looking at a team as good if not better than the greatest team of all time in hurling that is the Tipp team of the 60s!!

That was a humiliation that Galway should not have been subjected to in front of a laughing smirking gloating Tipperary crowd. NEVER should these young Galway players have been forced to play a final in such a partisan and intimidating environment which was really a Tipp party celebration for last Sunday. Taking nothing away from a fine under 21 Tipp side but no wonder Galway froze and those currently holding the reins in the GAA are a disgrace to the Association. We are being run by a crowd who look down on us as ignorant plebs with no right to question them. As for Tipp well no wonder you have a reputation for arrogance and are not liked by many within the GAA given your laughing antics at the young Galway team.

You have some valid points there Ulsterman, I felt for the young Galway hurlers and its a disgrace how the GAA have treated Galway. I don't agree with your view that Tipp supporters are not overall liked. Today though Galway hurt!

Many in Antrim well remember their shameful antics after the 89 final and so annoyed was Sambo McNaughton that he put it in his book. Some of the Tipp players and fans laughed at Antrim and said things like it wasn't a real All Ireland and how Tipp would have to beat a real team. No I don't have much time for them myself and also think this Croke Park crowd are a disgrace.

Talk is cheap , why didnt Galway pull out if they wernt happy with the venue??..The GAA knew Thurles was a crowd puller especially after Tipp winning the Senior last Sunday so they were never going to switch it...THEY WOULD HAVE LOST MONEY IF THEY CHANGED VENUE..only way to hit the GAA IS IN THE POCKET. REFUSE TO PLAY .THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL THEY TAKE NOTICE..

dont talk rubbish the gaa would have lost no money if the venue was in Limerick say, as the whole of Tipp were travelling anyway. They would actually have made more if the venue was different as more Galway lambs would have travelled for the slaughter.

it wasnt a real All Ireland as it was only a matter of travelling up to see Declan Carr lift the cup!

Tipp would have beaten them by 30 points in Pearse stadium

Tipp are turning into a goalscoring machine, I like the way every forward thinks "goal" if theyre within 30 yards of the net.

In fairness to galway the score should have been closer, they missed a few goal chances, but I dont think they would have beaten them no matter where they played.
