Dublin robbed of replay

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Corkcelt I was in the same boat watching the game in town yesterday and as Kelly blasted it you could see everyone put their hands on their head. I have looked at the replays and I'm almost 100% sure it was a point and the dubs reaction certainly does suggest likewise, even the supporters behind the goal.
I actually taught it was great move by Goulding and only for Kelly not completing the pick up it would have been a goal. We were down by 2 at that stage so i felt it was worth the risk.
After looking at the game for a second time, I found that even in the first half Cork were much more in the game than I taught they were when watching it live. The Dubs looked very positive when Brogan got on the end of moves however this did not happen as much as i taught it did. Cork more or less dominated the second half but found it extremely difficult to score while the Dubs finished their moves much better
Cork are still due their one great performance so please god we will get it in the final, otherwise we may be in trouble!

Dell
Why must you perpetuate the same bloody moan after all our games?! We know you don't like it. Few of us do. Let it go my friend.

Des Cahill confirmed they put this point in slowmo to check earlier and it was definetely a point. Maybe this thread should be closed

Maybe it was wide. Maybe it wasn't. Either way it'll harden ye for 1995. Karma indeed!

Yawn Dell, ''Whingers are out''!!! Dell, why do you take pleasure in seeing other counties beaten?? I find it hilarious. I am an admirer of Kerry football and like to see them doing well if Dublin are out but I am not going to start partying if Tyrone beat Kerry for example!! For me, it is just plain crazy to celebrate Cork beating Dublin if your not from Cork!!

In fairness to the Dubs they never moaned about it at the time or after throught the media. Pictures in last nights papers suggest it was wide! The also never complained about the blatant line ball given to Cork that led to the penalty. It was plain to see MD Mc Cauley never touched it befroe going over the line.

Didn't see the point and couldn't watch it again to be honest! However, the sideline that led to the penalty was definitely the other way.

But, that's the way things go. Stuff like that happens in every game and Dublin don't do post match complaints, appeals and whinging. GAA does need to do something about linesmen and umpires. Some of the decisions this year have been unbeleivable.

It doesnt matter if it was wide or not. Dubs were beaten. Too tired to control the last 10 minutes. Even after the penalty dubs could have won. Dubs got tired, Lost discipline as a result. Complaining about single incidents has no point as cork could have had three goals in first half. Also cork missed many easy chances too. its time to go and rest and come back next year with more scoring ability. If O'gara could score a point he would be a great FF.

752931 Please friend don't become as bitter, begrudging and undignified as Kerry because you lost. The only people responsible for Dublin's defeat were the Dublin players who panicked and lost their discipline in the last 5 mins.

Excuse me you LIAR!!! Ask the Down fans on here whether they met any "bitter, begrudging and undignified" Kerry fans a few weeks ago. Your lies are becoming tiresome.

What about the penalty, a great piece of deception by the Cork sub O'Neill. He actually brought the Dublin midfielder to the ground! He did it so well not even the Sunday game boys noticed it!

He also won a couple of really soft fee's, one which lead to a point.

1-1 which really should have been 0-0!

Yeah I noticed that too ban. You would have to be quick to see it but O'Neill definitely pulled the Dublin lad down with his arm and won a penalty for his efforts. This is becoming very common in both hurling and football when a defender goes to make a tackle, the player attacking usually holds on and pulls down the defender to make it look like a free in. I am not sure what can be done about it but it is very hard for refs to spot unless they are looking out for it.
