if it was wide it won't make a difference to the out come of the result i'm afraid.devestated of course....but alot of people here saying cork were going to humble dublin and hammer dublin.....but i never thought we would be within a whisker(yet again) of a final appearance.....we are always going to be within touching distance :( just lacked abit of indisipline and experience on the day....cork weren't that much better than us there today also.hard luck Dublin and well done cork.Best of look in the final.

exactly Kildare4sam...on the day that little bit of experience we just didn't have with some players and some silly mistakes in the 2nd half cost us unfortunately...but no way would i have thought after the meath game that we would be beaten by cork by a point in the semi final.....so I should be happy I guess....but why do i feel so hollow?:( ha ha

Little bit of inexperience cost Dublin. Nice to see them foot passing and kicking the long ball into the forwards.Cork copied them towards the end and had the experience to make it count.Kildare will have a big say yet where Sam goes.

Poor old dublin, its awful to lose to a disputed score so may i suggest they form an alliance
with the pals up in louth and do a lap of honour around drogheda

They hadn't much option in fairness as the nearest Dublin player to the two full forwards was normally 40 yards away.

No. They weren't.
Game over, ball burst, but dubs don't cry.
They'll take their beating, & better than most here.

Hard luck jack

Dublin werent robbed.....inexperience and bad tackling cost them.....Tyrone would have put Cork away if they were in the Dubs position with 15 mins left.

They will be back though, this will stand to them. That guy McAuley in MF is the find of the year

dublin just didnt have the bottle to win it.. sure brogans point in the first half was wide and MD Mccauleys point shouldnt have stood either.. they just ran out of steam. they'll be back

Dublin lost for 2 simple reasons, they lost their discipline and forgot how to tackle and they only have one forward worthy of the name, most of the rest are simply not good enough. Deal with it and move on.

The best team won in my opinion. 2 great subs in Cadogan and O'Neill won it for Cork in the end.
Dublin were too reliant on the brilliant Brogan, O Gara was found out yesterday, not good enough!

Very impressed with Dublin, their work rate at times was manic, but in the last 12 mintues Cork outscored them 0-6 to 0-1 before Brogan's last point. Did he think there was more time on the clock? Surely if he knew time was almost up he'd have lebbed it in?

A great game, 2 good teams, surely the Rebels have to win it this year?

well if it wasn't illegal royal can u explain why both comantators said it was, confusing really i mean like
-----------------------------
I know Royal has already said he was referring to something else but I also thought he was disagreeing with the commentators assertion that the point was illegal.
I happen to believe they were wrong also.

The ball was struck with an open hand but was struck from underneath so the point was OK.

I believe these things all even themselves out anyway but in this case I believe the ref was correct and the commentators were wrong.

As to why the commentators - that's another issue - I think they are so focused on trying to point out where a ref might have made a mistake that they jump the gun a bit at times. There' a work to describe them but admin would probably edit it out so I'll save hir the bother.

Dublin shot themselves in the foot with a lot of help form the ref as there were a number of frees given to Cork towards the end that were not frees. Cork are physically strong but the handpassing they go on with makes football very unattractive to watch as a spectacle. The football team that I would actually pay to watch was the great Galway team of the last 90's / early 00's who played the game the way it should be played.
