" King Henry " Shefflin. I can't remember Marty Morrissey calling him by his proper name lately.
Ironic really, the man's nickname is after one of the most brutal Kings in British/Irish History...Pity. He is not a bad player :)

just a few names of players from a club in Offaly. The "Half" Hannon (the shortest player on the team), "Monster" Casey, another player was known as "Band Aid", Though these players are retired, it was very funny hearing these names and more being shouted from the sideline and on the pitch.

"Pillar" Caffery!

People used to wonder where he got the nickname from and they asked him once on the GAA show that used to be on Friday evenings and he said it was "something" from his childhood!....I dont think he actually knew himself though!

But it makes perfect sense though: 'Pílear' means 'Cop' as Gaeilge!....and of course he is a Garda!.....trust the Dubs to have the real witty Irish ones!!
