The key is the Tipp half forward line. Whether they can win enough ball, or at least disrupt the ball that the KK half back line deliver up the field. Its what cost them last year, and while it has improved this year to a degree, I still think that line will decide it. abhainn (Galway) - Posts: 1000 - 21/08/2010 10:35:55 751980 Link 0 |

Good point Abhainn. Cant see the Tipp half forward line getting much change out of Tommy Walsh, Brian Hogan and JJ Delaney though. kingdomfan (Kerry) - Posts: 393 - 22/08/2010 17:24:52 752866 Link 0 |

In all fairness Thurlesblue the shoulder Brian Hogan shipped from Callinan in the League Final didnt have much bearing on the final scoreline. MayofaninKK (Mayo) - Posts: 117 - 23/08/2010 17:14:40 753924 Link 0 |

i heard rumors shefflin may make an appearance in the final i doubt he'll be able to play after injuring his cruciate but i'm sure if kilkenny are winning well with 10 mins to go they'll bring him on i'd prefer tipp to play kilkenny with shefflin fit think tipp can and should beat them not being arrogant but if you don't believe in your team winning a game you might as well not watch it at all moddy91 (Tipperary) - Posts: 226 - 23/08/2010 19:33:17 754127 Link 0 |

By the same token it could be argues that Callinan hasn't been the same since he came up against one Jackie Tyrell in last year's final. Considering how few games he's (cough) "starred" in this year methinks that his challenge on Brian Hogan didn't achieve all that much from his own viewpoint in the short or medium term. I mean it's not as if Callinan had a winner's medal to show off either after the League Final or indeed the AI. Hopefully more of the same to come in just under a fortnight's time. King Henry out & Kk still 2/7 with the bookies. Incredible. naglfar95 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 24 - 23/08/2010 20:25:51 754199 Link 0 |

Tyrell challenge was payback for the League Final. Simple as. And if one of your own feels the need to come on this thread and type "ha ha" in relation to a serious injury sustained by Brian Hogan then the very least I can do is return the compliment. It would be bad manners not to so do. After all if you can give it makes sense you should be able to take it too. naglfar95 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 24 - 23/08/2010 22:01:51 754344 Link 0 |

There are 3 reasons i want Kilkenny to win . Firstly, this is the 3rd year in a row i have lumped on them pre championship so i hope to collect the cash again. Secondly, they are without doubt the greatest team I have ever seen play the best game in the world. And finally, Thurlesblues, need i say anymore. jonny1951 (Mayo) - Posts: 1431 - 24/08/2010 09:06:20 754367 Link 0 |
