Last year, as Eoin Kelly has stated, Tipp lost because they missed too many goal chances, or the Kilkenny keeper was equal to them.

Also, has been shown in a number of games over the last 5 years, kilkenny do not blink when challenged and have destroyed a few teams who appeared to be dominant on the day in the last 10 minutes. Galway in the 2007 quarter, Galway last year, and last years final spring to mind.

This year Kilkenny have improved, Tipp have regressed.

Kilkenny won by 5 last year. Unless Henry or Tennyson or whatever breaks down, it is hard to see past them. They have Ireland's best mid fielder on the bench, I suspect to cover such a happening.

Tipp's heritage worries me, not their current team. They of course have a chance, but it is Kilkenny for me.

Tipp have played well enough. Awful miss by Noel O Dwyer when they were in ascendancy. Terrible decision against Kilkenny leading to free that Cummins pointed. The wind seems to be a factor so having reduced a 6 point lead to 1 before half-time, Cats have advantage. Its stilll all to play for both sides evenly enough matched in hurling skills but I think in the end the pure physical strength of KK will be deciding factor. Tipp will need something special like a brace of goals from Kelly or Corbett if they are to prevail.
